She would be fantastic and she would take the project so serious.
they were never going to use the Hildebrand rarity. sounds like a Sherlock Holmes story.
property of a lady might just be a goer one day but also has a slightly Edwardian vibe.
let's just hope they don't go for one of those lame kill/die/never composites
Mickey G did state in an interview around the time of LTK that they wouldn't be using THR. However during, QoS he seemed to change his mind a bit considering they were using QoS and getting away with it.
Sounds like a crossbreed between Never say Never again and Die another Day.
Yes, she looks like a face that's going to be cast more intensively over the next few years, so why not in the context of Boyle Bond? I wouldn't mind her, and Eon would save time ;-).
I doubt it. Arnold was the biggest Bond fanboy composer the series ever had, already scored five films, and never bothered to bring back the 007 theme. I thought there may have been a chance when Craig got the role (given how Arnold used the Bond theme much less), but that wasn't the case. It's even telling that he didn't use it in his "Shaken Not Stirred" project.
I honestly do not think we'll ever hear the 007 theme again. Even Barry himself abandoned it after MR, which is nearly 40 years ago.
He wanted to, but he couldn't because they had to pay royalties to Barry's estate. Yet he did quote the 007 theme in Die Another Day.
Listen to the drums at 2:02
As others said before, the 007 theme is too much lighthearted and adventurous to be used in a Craig film.
I honestly believe before the last bond film ever happens they will exaust all of Fleming which means while we may not get them now we will one day have films titled
Risico (likely after Michael dies or retires as he hates this title so I doubt he would allow it but Babs might)
The property of a lady
The hildebrand Rarity (part of me thinks they set up hildebrand in the last one as a way to possibly use the title for Bond 25 but as the original plan has changed who knows)
And 007 in New York (though I fear that might be soon)
Re: 'Revoked': I recently realized that this term was used prominently in Lethal Weapon 2, when the chief baddie was killed. That film was released in the same year as LTK and crushed it at the US box office, so enough people likely would have been familiar with the term and what it meant by the end of the summer of 1989.
You mean when the legendary Murtaugh cuts him down? "IT'S JUST BEEN REVOKED!" Classic.
From what I've read, it wasn't so much the lack of understanding of the term as it was the association by US viewers with a driver's license revokation which led EON to drop the originally proposed title. It was a mistake imho. License Revoked is much cooler than the generic title we eventually got.
It's not that Americans didn't get it. It's that the studio thought that they wouldn't get it. Which is strange. But whatever
I remember reading the Lee Worrall book from back in the late 90s. Apparently us Americans thought it was thinking about losing their drivers license.
There was probably just one moron asking that question, and they extrapolated from that.
This.
I disagree that the 007 theme would be too lighthearted and adventurous for Craig. I could imagine it fitting right in with stuff for instance from the boat chase in QoS. It all depends on the arrangement.
I immediately thought of the latest Bond when I saw LETHAL WEAPON 2 in the cinema and he says that line.
I also lamented the title change. LICENCE REVOKED as far as original Eon titles go, I like much better than the made up Brosnan titles.
I do remember seeing the clapperboard display the title as LICENSE REVOKED with the American spelling. In my own odd little opinion, I'm glad Eon went with the British spelling for the film's final title. LICENCE TO KILL looks far better to me than LICENSE TO KILL. However, had the original title remained I would have been fine with the American spelling.
I wonder when the decision to change the title actually occurred, and who made the final choice regarding the spelling?
Even if you don't remember the film you may have heard the hit song from it, Billy Ocean's Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car.
I'd bet some people saw only "Licence" and figured they already saw it last year. Or in the other case some not-so-bright people who thought LTK was that film.
Ha I love License to Drive.
So do I. It sounds cooler.
