That is exactly how I envision the ending of Bond 25 as well! Not necessarily a post-credit scene, but a scene where you see that Bond is alive.
But in Bond 26 I'd like it to begin like the TMWTGG novel, with a returning Bond trying to kill M. That would be a hell of a start for a new actor!
Yes, yes YES! @Kronsteen
Why, thank you, Sean Jr. Actually, I would tweak the Bond 26 opening slightly: the first navy guy looks though the binoculars, says think we've found him Sir, passes binoculars to officer who looks through, sees Bond with the Pacific island lovely, who says "that's definitely our man..."
I did last week, but got no reply :(
That would make sense and great faithfulness to the Fleming novels.
However since EON doesn't want to make sense, we'll never see it
It's too good an opportunity to miss right now, so fingers crossed! But I'm doubtful as well. Babs always say "Always go back to Fleming". I wish they'd follow that motto more often. They already missed the obvious Property of a Lady after Casino Royale, so please take the chance now EON!
Baz is on leave at the moment, I believe.
I have it on fairly good authority that Mike Fleming from Deadline and Baz (perhaps not to the same extent as Fleming) get most of their info directly from Eon.
I think whatever gets 'leaked' to them is done deliberately to put information out. Once word gets out, Eon use them as a news outlet to either clarify or rectify stories gettign spread.
The Sony leaks confirmed just how much studios liaise and work with apparent 'scoopers'.
That could be a good way to go too for 26. Perhaps Spectre could be the ones who find Bond on the island and then use him up to either kill M (or break out Blofeld), before he comes to his senses and goes after them.
What was expected to be published?
Someone convinced themselves that Baz Bingoboom would give us some info today.
No, baz and the official 007 accounts have nothing in common. It's strange because usually every day at 6 or 7 pm 007 accounts publish something. today the didn't
Oh, I see. I guess the guy will share something when he has something to report.
I guess the website stuff was just maintenance or something similar, too?
Nothing to publish, perhaps?
Ha ha.
Yann Demange's new film 'White Boy Rick' is also screening at Telluride.
Given the current state of things, if Ralph and Yann do press, it seems pretty certain at least one of them will get asked about Bond 25.
Either people totally forget about the crazy stunts in FYEO (some of the best in the series) or purposely choose to ignore them just because they’re in a John Glen film, but FYEO is one heck of a ride! Also the Citroen chase is one of my favorites in the series. Expertly shot and executed (great driving of all cars involved there courtesy of Remy Julienne’s crack team) and with a superb Bill Conti score to back it all up. Let’s not forget that FYEO has a very engaging Cold War story to boot, with a great twist involving Kristatos and Columbo. The iconic scene with Locque of course speaks volumes as well. It’s a film that gets better and better for me with each viewing. I’m also a huge fan of the Conti score and feel that it adds a lot to the mood of the film. It was a great way to usher in the 80s Bond! The track “Submarine” is one of my favorite renditions of the Bond theme.
Regarding the aforementioned motorcycle on a bobsled run I wholly concur - drag me underneath a Raiders truck anyday (and twice on Sunday) before I’d ever let anyone launch me on a motorcycle full speed down a bob sled run! That’s just insane!! I hope folks do realize that professional bob sledders have been killed on these runs. Now imagine what can happen to a guy on a motorcycle that’s trapped inside this run and barreling down full steam. Hello?? I dare say even Tom Cruise wouldn’t touch that one.
Other reasons for not taking it seriously:
- No (official) announcement
- No prior leaks through dependable sources
- 31st is a Thursday and not a Friday
- It's an irregular date for a film to be released
- No other databases are using this information
So yeah, B25 should still be on track.... for now.
