Until anyone comes up with the facts on what these tweets are purporting to I'm going to look at these tweets as load of old baiting.
Again, these tweets were posted by the administrators of this site. It's safe to say they are huge Bond fans.

What's interesting is that I thought they have a relationship with EON. Aren't they undermining that relationship by posting these tweets? Maybe they already know EON is keeping the script and the "movie gold" idea...

This falls right into your hysteria Panchito it's food to your ears because you want to be right.
I get that, but why is MI6-HQ fueling the hysteria? (Don't get me wrong, I like that they do, I just don't understand why they do it.)

Some here not all have had enough of DC and are jumping on every bit of negative press about him.

Yeah Daniel Craig is so awkward and a prima donna that another big director has signed him on and sung his praises.

Most of this talk of DC not getting on with directors is fuelled by the press, every paper that has put out these stories are in my country and wouldn't trust anyone of them as far as I could throw them.

They all copy and paste each others stories and do hardly any original research themselves, journalism has got so lazy.

No one ever has a pop at Campbell he seems untouchable because he directed GE & CR and I would have thought falling out with Mendes was pretty obvious seeing the mess SPECTRE was.

We badly need some news this month - even if it’s a dreaded delay. Everything got so frustrating and confusing with Boyle’s departure. We’ve had to deal with loads of rumors and no more official word from EON yet about all of it. Something official would be nice to calm anxious fans like me down.

I think we know now that EON aren't in the game of making announcements to calm fans down, they make them when they are good and ready.

Possibly frustrating for us fans but I'm sure they aren't sitting on their backsides twiddling their thumbs, work is going on, an announcement will arrive soon enough.

Agree. I can't see why people are so worked up about this. The film will be released when EON wants it to, and we can do nothing but wait anyway.

Again, EON owns Hodge's script and may use it as little or as much as they want.
Nothing says it won't be used, is gone, lost ...

Well they are saying “boy what could have been”, which suggests it won’t be happening now.
  • A fresh, groundbreaking script a lot of people were excited about, a visionary director, the most promising Bond movie in ages... all (or at least most of it) gone...

I will never forgive Barbara Broccoli, MGW and Daniel Craig for what they have done to Danny Boyle and John Hodge. And I will probably never forgive Danny boy for not making it work. The only person I feel really sorry for in this story is John Hodge.

You would still be complaining about them even if they personally sent Christopher Nolan to your house to invite you to star in Bond 26, directed by Christopher Nolan.

A James Bond page on Twitter claims they've heard rumours about Boyle and Hodge's script and that the story elements sounded very exciting. To tease, and then add no more is torture! Lol.

    Check out @jamesbondlive’s Tweet:
Thanks. That's not just "a James Bond", that's the twitter account of THIS James Bond site. Here is the previous tweet:

    1. I don't know who is managing MI6-HQ's twitter account, but why is he not posting these nuggets in this thread right after posting these tweets? (This isn't the first time they posted something interesting about an upcoming Bond film on twitter but failed to mention it here or on MI6-HQ.)
    2. Somebody please tell me EON hasn't thrown out Hodge's script completely and they are still going with their (meaing Boyle + Hodge) idea!
Well this is quite reassuring, but not entirely unexpected. This idea was apparently so golden that P&W were kicked off the project after all, so I expected it to be good.

Hopefully some of it is retained despite their departures.

EON, official word is not saying "boy what could have been". No.

"first hand accounts" and then opinion.

I am not worried either way, actually. Get us a great finished script and I don't care who writes it. I am still trusting the people actually in charge of this Bond franchise.

Agreed. Bond doesn't need that "Expectation Subverter" mucking up the works.

+1 Expectation subverting is what got us Brofeld. I definitely didn’t expect it, I’ll give them that much.

Careful, @4EverBonded, it's been a day where some seemed to revel in the news, others laughed at, once again, slamming the lead actor.

It seems you and Shardlake and others are starting to buck against the negative sentiments that have spread like a virus. You make too much sense. Careful, "they" don't like that at all, do "they".

(p.s. just about to PM you about some of those reviews)

True. But only a few of these stories have circulated, and they're all rubbish. DC is the consummate professional. Apparently, he's so awful to work for that even Dave Bautista wants to come back for Bond 25 and work with him again. Oh, that awful Daniel Craig.

    What a pompous ass LOL:

But we are not a calm minority, I think (despite mega posters on this site). I and others are smiling, perhaps like Craig did when he opened that box M left him at the end of Skyfall and saw the china bulldog. We shall not yield. ;) Bond shall return. And in a very good way. I have faith.

    Forgive her. Forgive yourself.

And what the heck, forgive Daniel Craig and Michael G. Wilson, too.

Once again, look at what @ColonelSun said the other day (I know, I know...); his friends have worked with DC on the Bond pictures and Layer Cake as well. When crew guys talk well of you, that means something...

I also know some Second Unit guys (one who is now a director; we're working on a couple projects together) that worked with Craig. The guy's very well respected as being the consummate professional.

However, the posters on here want to believe what they want to believe. And that's their right. Just doesn't make it right-- as in reality. In reality DC will continue to be admired as a skilled actor, and will remain as such, long after these Mi6 posters pass out from all their pouting and shouting down of others.

Getting back on topic: The release deadlines will be met. Shooting will begin in January-- which is fine since the cast and crew were to be assigned a Holiday Break... in late December and the first week of January.
  • No disrespect to @jamesbondlive or @MI6 but the odds are their 'scoop' came from an anonymous DM on Twitter.

It probably has as much credibility as Cashley. I'm sure anyone who follows the production through this forum could send a relatively cogent message to their Twitter account to spark their interests (remember, the people who run this site are Bond fans that are susceptible to fall for nonsense).

I think it's abundantly clear that www.mi6-hq.com have zero sources from the Bond/Eon network. If they did they're had 10 years to post stories, that they have not.

If they did have sources, they'd be no way they'd risk aliening sources by posting provocative tweets. This is just @MI6 having a Donald Trump moment and trying to get attention on Twitter.

    Please ignore.

Which unfortunately feeds into the few Trump supporters on this site who use Mi6 as their own twitter account. So long as it fits their agenda, they scream down any dissenters.

This isn't proper discourse. Not even close. Like I suggested yesterday: read Sir Henry's thread and you will see displays of passionate debate, of respectful disagreements, and it's all so wonderfully... adult.

  • //The three years were wasted by the distributor haggling, we have no information on how Eon spent them.//

Sure we do. It made Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool, Nancy, The Rhythm Section and something titled Trauma Is a Time Machine.

Meanwhile, I think it was MGM that was in charge of the distributor haggling, with Eon consulted.

    How reliable is this account?

It's the MI6 James Bond website. It has an official relationship with Eon.

Am I correct to assume that they are normally accurate? Presumably they didn't give anything away because elements could still possibly make their way into the final screenplay.

The website has some kind of relationship with Eon. I am not privy to the details.

I see. Thanks for that. Interesting. It certainly is a bit of much needed positive marketing about the script, assuming elements are retained.

I think that if they begun shooting in January, it wouldn’t be an issue meeting a November release. Quantum of Solace began filming in late January and still got released in mid November. Casino Royale started filming in January as well.
