    We need a Bond film that has everyone at MI6 (at least the 00 section) ALL being on the same page/side/team. Sometimes a simple case of good vs evil is all one needs. It just needs to be deftly executed.

    +2. Would love a well executed "back to basics" kind of film.

    Every other media the Bond franchise is occupying other than the films has it going down the road like that. Why can't the films just follow a simple "Bond on a mission" storyline with your regular good vs evil template albeit executed very well, I'll never know.

    Pretty much same casting call but now on a different outlet. Is this one more reputable?

    Bond survived by innovation.

    More like copying current fads -

    LALD = blaxploitation
    Golden Gun = kung fu
    MR = Star Wars
    OP = Indiana Jones
    LTK = Drug films of the 80's

    etc etc

    If rehashing the same categories of "personal connections" with the same melodrama being forced down our throats over and over is called innovation, then I'd say we've hit pretty low standards.

    Bond films repeating what works at the box office is a longtime standard.

    That's as true for TSWLM-MR as much as it is for SF-SP. The innovation/change is the more modern approach overall for the Craig films, melodrama included.

    If Leiter is brought back I want to see him actually doing something. Wright is a top actor. But Jack Lord will always be my favourite Felix.

    As early as Jack Whittingham's first draft script for Kevin McClory, screenwriters have attempted to give Leiter more to do. (The same applies to Richard Maibaum's 1961 draft of Thunderball before Eon shifted gears to do Dr. No.) To date, it never works out.

    Unfortunately the pic isn't as recent as the one we saw with him, Rachel, the baby and his belly.

    With all due respect, too much is being made of the recent photos with his baby. He’s wearing very baggy clothing. Craig does not have a tapered physique; even lean he has a thick l, straight up and down torso. If you look at the torture scene in CR, he’s obviously in great shape but his abdomen somewhat distended.
    Speaking for myself, I have under 10% body fat and I’ve seen photos where it looks like I have a gut.
    Daniel is in great shape and will be in better in March.

    Seriously this is the only actor to play the role that really bothers to get himself in shape and look like he can do the things he can on screen.

    I'm pretty sure he's not going to do a Sean in DAF on us and unlike the way Sean and Roger look quite different when they started to when they finished. Daniel Craig won't look much different to what he looked like in Casino Royale by the time he finishes.

    His more rough chiselled look will be to his benefit as his face hasn't changed much since then, only his hairstyles possibly.

    The look in SF after the PTS is deliberate and by the time he takes that beard off and enters the casino he's all most back to full fitness and look.

    Agreed. People are being a bit ridiculous. He looks fine and will look much better in March, especially for someone his age and shape.

    So, I haven't logged on to this forum since Skyfall came out, I think. Haven't been this excited since SF either.

    Reason 1: Fukanaga

    Reason 2: Dan Romer! Just listened to his Maniac soundtrack:

    A few observations:
    - he's amazingly versatile - each track has a very different style, different sound, ranging from Newmanesque electronic minimalism to a Desplat-like magical richness.
    - he can do tension (!!)
    - he can do action (!!)

    If Fukanaga manages to bring him on,this promises to be one of the best soundtracks in a long time. We will see.

    Superb form, Mr. Craig. The only ugly thing in the photo is that Seamaster. Hope they'll use a similar version to the one in SP. Seriously now, the guy is in great shape for 50. Looks almost the same as ever, and his face doesn't look puffy at all. Now, to keep in shape until March, going through the holidays ;)

    Only the colours are ugly as opposed to the rather abysmal entity of Planet Ocean and Aqua Terra. If Bond reverses back to the normal 300M diver with the waveless blue dial and bezel of the same colour, it would be perfectly a satisfactory.

    What's wrong with the Planet Ocean? The 42mm from QOS is one of the most beautiful watches ever (yeah, it's my watch ;), so... )

    Don't know about the others, but compared to 300M, it looks ugly and bit of a downgrade. To me, at least.
  • It would be a slap in the face and will not garner new fans at all if Craig's last outing is done with a standalone Bond film.

    If you like the styles of each of Pierce Brosnan's movies and want standalone films, then wait for DC to finish playing. DC has played Bond such that it satisfied both fans and also newcomers.

    He just ran away with the daughter of the man who helped Vesper commit suicide....is that not something you'd like to wrap your head around aside from the brainless action being shoved down your throats with mindless scripts in all these superhero movies which are really being made for audiences in China rather than in the West?
