Yes. Or vice versa. But probably that way around, given the economic factors of the two.
There was talk about Bond to Norway a little while back. Here's the article (in Norwegian):
https://www.dagbladet.no/kultur/hollywood-snuser-pa-vestlandet-med-ny-og-enorm-james-bond-derfor-vraker-de-trolig-norge/68763567
The application deadline was mentioned as an issue.
Thanks for clarifying, @Torgeirtrap.
Then we get an end of the world type plot, nuclear missile crisis. Elon Musk type villain.
Also..I made this earlier this year to get hyped for Bond 25 8)
Still epic.
This is yet another summary of the mid-November interview that Fukunaga gave to the Phillippine outlet. The quotes are more than two weeks old. Various outlets that missed it the first time are summarizing it now.

Confirmed Yes is doing the main theme :)
In fairness Fleming’s Bond fell in love in most books too, so it’s true to character. And he was hardly PC;-)
Exactly, that's who he is. Bond should never "use" women, never ever. That's just plain wrong. Bond is a gentleman and a true gentleman never "uses" women. And that's not PC, it's just reasonable moral standards.
Bond constantly fell in love in the books and the reoccurring trope was that he knew he couldn’t and had to play the role of the ‘secret agent’ and live in the shadows.
Off the top of my head he fell in love with
- Vesper (only for her to kill herself)
- Gala Brand (he was imagining his whole life with her until she revealed she was already with someone else which left him totally gutted)
- Tiffany Case (I think she left him)
- Tracy
- Kissy (I recall a scene where he imagines his life with her and eventually they have a child).
People clearly misremember their Fleming here. Bond was a hopeless romantic and a very melancholic character (he even suffers from alcoholism and depression in the books).
Also........I’m v surprised that people aren’t in this thread more with the recent news. When I log on this site there are usually 50-70 comments here of people moaning or on some desperate tangent. Now we have something to discuss it’s dried up.
Meanwhile, series newcomer Chris Brigham will be an Executive Producer on the film:

I assume he's a Universal hire.
I was not a huge fan of LaLaLand as a film but the visuals were great.
I am more optimistic than I've been for a long time. I was doubtful the moment EON announced Mendes was on board and he ended up fulfilling my worst fears.
Cary seems more sure footed to me and I'm massively encouraged that he himself is a writer who puts the primary emphasis on a strong story and not just poorly stitched together thematic drivel.
I'm also very happy we have an American director at last. I hope we never return to the stupid ban on US directors.
Part of me hopes that Cary will be tapping into his Japanese heritage to take us on a Japan based adventure. Of all the Asian locations Bond has been to, Japan just seems to suit him best. Hoping for a return.
Me too. But there's no evidence to it apart from the Shatterhand working title thing. Perfect scenario for me would be if they took Bond to Japan and to the castle of death. Have him swim to the island amongst barracudas and then confront the villain. All of that after spending some good time in a Tokyo casino, of course. I miss the exotic orient. We've had China, briefly in SF with the Macau scene, though.
Please bring us some proper, atmospheric location work Cary - please! Preferably in Japan.
In general, Bond has only "used" women ("used" sex) when the job has warranted it. I've said this before: those who accuse Bond of being a misogynist are not understanding the context. Many of the female characters are playing the same high-stakes spy game. All's fair in love and war. If people want to argue that Pussy Galore was raped, they're forgetting what she was on the cusp of doing: helping to plant a nuclear device at Fort Knox. Bond used the best "weapon" (snicker, snicker) at his disposal to convince her not to.
There have been very few innocent victims in all this. Patricia Fearing is the only female character to be truly mishandled. The other is Fields, who was only trying to do her job, but she was offering sex and Bond turned the tables on her. (I mean, what was up with that trench coat? Bond knew what her orders were.)
Bond is visibly disturbed when he finds Fields dead. He knew she was an innocent victim. Same with both Jill and Tilly Masterson. With Tilly, remember that Bond runs to check on her (against his better judgment). In both cases (and there are others), Bond's demeanor is not that of a misogynist pig.
Sorry. End rant.
Hence the first 3 words of my post.
Sorry, just adding detail to your three words. I keep seeing new stories (here and on social media) summarizing the same interview. Empire Online and Screen Rant have run summaries of the same material the past few days.
Quite right! Forgot about that! What does that tell us about the current script? Holding on to some aspects of the previous one?
Given we're back to the P&W draft with the script, I'm guessing this Nordic-related locale was always in the cards. Besides, they were planning to have a Scandinavian Bond Girl for Spectre to begin with - The character that later became the infamous Madeleine Swann.
Well this is exciting news!! What source did this come from?
This must be the source.
No problem! I doubt this was even picked up by foreign news sites at all. It wasn't made a big deal out of it here either.
I think they'll mostly be looking at landscapes (perhaps winter landscapes depending on when they film). There's are some interesting buildings around too, of course. Don't know if the cities will have too much to offer. Here's a promo film by Western Norway Film Commission:
And here's a bit about architecture:

Also, as we've seen with the recent Mission Impossible film; a foreign production filming in Norway doesn't mean it will be presented as Norway on screen.
