Nope.
i now put my faith in CF to make this relationship work...
Might be. It's easy to think along those lines.
Interesting that this news bit came quite quickly after the Canada/Norway rumours. Wonder if that only raises the likelihood of the location rumours being true as well.
Cary Fukunaga – relationship counselor!
I'm much more worried about the events of this story being propelled from what happened in SP. Most Bond fans and general audiences are done with that story.
If true IMO we are for sure getting a direct sequel to spectre.
Surprisingly, they left it more open ended then both sides realize.
Yep. If me means a true adaptation of YOLT im all for it.
This
Exactly! And this guy is great with story and character-- so here's hoping!
I'm just pissed that @Pierce2Daniel didn't get the scoop since he was building such a great relationship with Baz.
Fingers crossed!
There's more rumours to post, one would imagine. @Pierce2Daniel just need to keep messaging Baz!
If this is all true-- and I think a large part is-- I agree that it would only make sense for "Cuckoo" to return. Even though I heard that this particular actor was not very agreeable on set. But, if the role's been developed and it makes sense...
Or, in an alternative universe, EoN leaks this all to Baz to lead us down the wrong path...
I like the alternative universe better..., lol...
Haha - it wasn't that great. But thanks.
This is 100% confirmed - Baz quotes Fukunaga directly in the story. Essentially, his source is Fukunaga:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-6469437/Lea-Seydoux-star-James-Bond-director-Daniel-Craig-asked-come-back.html
(Baz also confirms that Fukunaga has heavy involvement in the scripting with P&W)
I thought Lea was a terrifically soulful performer who added a real melancholy to SP. She's a terrific actress and it's a shame that film didn't think of more things to do with her.
Does this rumour add more weight to the Shatterhand rumours? Will she only be a small role or the leading lady? All questions the coming weeks will elaborate on. One thing is for certain, whatever Boyle's 'unique' idea was, is now entirely gone.
Also here is a recent picture of Lea:
Lea is absolutely wonderful. She might be my favorite 007 leading lady of all time. No joke.
And there's no "if" about this, folks. Lea is returning, so is the entire MI6 crew. Baz is Baz for a reason. This might as well be an EON release.
Huge news, frankly.
I'm most interested to know if this was always a key part of the Bond 25 plan (for example, was she intended to be present in Danny Boyle's version as well?) But I doubt we'll know that answer until one day, when someone tells us what Boyle's film was intended to be.
Even more scary is that they're bringing her back to kill her off... I know a lot of people here are clamoring for that but the idea is cliché and predictable to me. It's not like Vesper hasn't defined this entire era (except for Skyfall I guess), why fridge another woman Bond falls in love with?
I guess they saw MI Fallout using Rebecca Ferguson again and thought they could do the same. Difference is Ilsa Faust operated on her own so she could be integrated into any story. Not to mention she was a badass. Madeleine is one of the more forgettable Bond girls IMO, despite Seydoux being a good actress.
I guess I should not worry about these things and trust Fukunaga to have a damn good story on his mind that doesn't feel predictable as hell.
On a positive note, I am glad Harris, Whishaw and Fiennes are confirmed back.
Bond 25 may redeem the actors, and their characters, but it won’t make SP a better film.
"I don't want M, Q or Moneypenny in the Bond film unless they're tied to their desks" is just a perspective I can't even begin to grasp. Genuinely, I'm at a loss. The entire point of reintroducing them the way they did in the modern era was to modernize those characters.
And I completely agree that the SPECTRE finale makes questionable use of them, but my oh my. I'll take as much of them as EON wants to give us.
It most certainly would for me. Ever since the first viewing I've seen it as a part 1 of 2, due to the open ending. I understand they don't owe anyone a 'part 2', but actually making a film that efficiently wraps SP up (in the PTS even) shows confidence for both films and thus strengthening the overall story.
Would anybody be happy to see Madeline not killed off in the pts, and perhaps give her more screen time to flesh out her character. She was one of my favourite things in Spectre and I would like to learn more about her.
