‘Bond 25’: Lea Seydoux Returning to Franchise
    https://variety.com/2018/film/news/bond-25-lea-seydoux-1203084117/

Craig is currently shooting Rian Johnson’s thriller “Knives Out” and Fukunaga is still finishing the “Bond 25” script, but insiders say producers have already begun building out the film’s ensemble. Besides Seydoux, Eon is looking for two other actresses — one would play an MI6 agent that works with Bond and another a mystery women — as well as the Bond villain.

According to insiders, Rami Malek was being eyed for the villain role, but his schedule on the last season of “Mr. Robot,” which shoots from March through July, makes it unlikely that he will be able to take the gig, even if Eon offered him the part.

I hope that female mi6 agent will play 00 agent wanted to see that for a long time.

Me too, maybe a Devil May Care adaptation?

Could be, I am now desperately waiting for February press conference.

They wasted him in spectre. His introduction was great, but never again using/ attempting his signature move? Like an unfinished essay. What a mess that film is.

He just grabbed his face. It needed to be longer/ he needed to move his fingers towards his eyes. Fight scene overall was great though, one of the best scenes of the craig era.

Why didn't CF just say everyone is coming back and be done with it

I think my prediction may be true, in that this could top Moonraker in terms of most role reprisals. Moonraker had 007 by the way.

Lucia in my opnion should be new kind of Irma Bunt.

Marwan Kenzari (Dutch) mabey can consider for the villian insteed of Rami Malek. There first whant him for lead in Aladdin, but deside to give him part of Jafar. Filming of Aladdin is possible already finished or in next 2 months.

Kenzari in Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

With Sedoux returns, after Ralph Fienes she is another person who worked with Matthias Schoenaerts in another movie.

    Mi6 agent should be 009.

As someone who hated SPECTRE was one of it's most viscious critics yes news like this is very worrying.

Although I'm not going to shoot down those so sceptical that this a terrible move as they have foundation due to the utter clust f*%k SPECTRE was.

Though I do attribute alot of why that film was so bad to Mendes, he appears to have rubbed actors up the wrong way including DC and also he's no screenwriter yet was colloborating with Logan on the original idea.

Cary is and a fine director. The return of Swann does kind of suggest that ESB could very well be returning either with Waltz playing him or a recast.

Maybe the best option was decided that rather from running away from the problem was to confront and try to put it right.

Continue the story but leave out the stuff that clearly didn't work. I've no idea how Swann is returning or what capacity she will figure in the script.

Though rather than dismiss it all I'm going to wait and see if any other casting points towards where this might be going, surely they need to get Jeffrey Wright back as for me the best cinematic Leiter of the series?

I will say my enthusiasum that returned with CF's appointment has taken a knock but I'm yet to resign to this all being the worst thing they could have done until more casting has been revealed.

To be honest I hope casting is the only thing loudmouth Baz and his tabloid friends are going to ruin for us this time round, I certainly don't want the kind of leaks we got last time round.

Would be nice to watch it on the screen Febuary 14th 2020 knowing very little of the story thanks
    .

Hmm, you don't sound like someone who doesn't want to know all about the new film prior to its release.
You have your rant about SP and Mendes, make your own suggestions about what you do and don't want, then accuse Baz of being a loudmouth for making an announcement about the casting...which is the usual sort of news we expect from any highly anticipated film.

I'll consider myself having been given a right ticking off @NicNac

I'm happy to hear about casting but nothing else.

Is anyone else just looking for an old school Bond adventure again, but one that takes place in 2020 not 1970? For me growing up, Bond films were all attempting to do the same thing, they followed a formula, and the objective was to fit the formula around what was topical, stylish and in vogue about that era. That was the entire modus operandi, really, for 40 years. Nowadays it seems like that is not enough, I enjoy Casino Royale as a freshening up of the formula, forgoing some of the tropes in order to explore Bond as a character, but ever since then it seems like we have really gone into too much of treating the series like it is high art. I can't wait for the Bond film which finally puts that to one side, and wants nothing more than to entertain. Sure I can go and watch the classics and frequently do, but I want to see what that looks like in a modern context. I guess Mission Impossible is the series for those like me for the time being.

On a separate note, I think EON are not too aware of SP reputation as lacklustre, and so are probably just proceeding as planned originally from the purvis and Wade script. SP made 880 million after all,, and that's what the
moneymen will pay most attention to. Cary Fukunaga was probably drafted in because they were in a tight squeeze time wise, rather than for a particular vision he might have. They'll keep him on a tight leash. The only reason they couldn't go for a journeyman was likely due to Craig being picky about the choices.

That's the only thing I want back. In every Bond film until she's decrepit and 103.

What does it matter if characters return or not? CF is likely to make a film as different from what Mendes did as Mendes' films were different from one another and from what was before. Even if Blofeld returned, in a different film with a different approach he would be different too. Dench's M returned for CR as a different character from the M she played in the Brosnan films. Even Tanner was three different people. What's going on in people's heads?

Maybe Sam Smith could return as well performing an encore of WRITINGS ON THE WALL as the theme song for B25?

I certainly hope this is not the film we're getting (although Seydoux returning might be an indication that this is indeed what Bond 25 will be). Cary Fukunaga has one hell of a job to do to make this film everything other than a SP sequel.

Agreed. Just because we have familiar cast/characters doesn’t mean we’re just going to get another SP. I’m sure it will be quite different. Some people are hitting the panic button too soon. I can understand missing the traditional standalone Bond formula, and I’m hopeful we return to that post-Craig, but it doesn’t mean B25 is doomed to failure.

I don’t think it matters much. There’s just a concern that bond25 won’t be as independent as it should be, but otherwise I dont think it would add/ subtract anything. Hopefully not.

I think they would save some time by repeating SPECTRE's exact title sequence and song for this new film. Just change the director credit to Cary Fukunaga.

If Thomas Newman comes aboard he won't have to do anything but insert his SPECTRE/SKYFALL soundtrack onto the new film.

Joking aside I'd love a YKMN style theme song as well.
