You're probably right and I concur.
Spielberg would be a dream.
EON should try & get him or Nolan for B25.
EON paid thru the nose to get Mendes back for SP. Craig said in a recent interview that he and Spielberg are close friends. If EON really wants to keep Craig for one more, Spielberg would be the ticket. I'd much rather a Spielberg Bond than a Nolan Bond.
Think he said this well before EON ponied up very big bucks to Mendes for SP, points probably too. Craig has worked with Spielberg 3 times. He directed Munich and TinTin and was also one of many producers on Cowboys and Indians and may have been the one, alas, responsible for luring Craig into Cowboys. Craig is far closer to Spielberg than he ever was to Mendes. Perhaps it depends in part on how badly EON wants Craig back for 25 and how persuasive they would be $ wise to get Spielberg. Wishful thinking I guess, but it sure would be something.
Which sounds really weird. He'd surely be paid millions anyway. And he's hardly in desperate need of more than mere millions. So if he said that and said it seriously, it must mean he isn't really interested.
Spielberg said that back during SF ...a film in which he praised. I think an interviewer asked Spielberg what he thought of SF then asked if he would ever direct a Bond film to which he replied they can't afford me....
I thought he said it earlier but I don't remember. But if he did say it at the time of SF, EON has had a long rep for not paying. I think they have loosened their purse strings as they paid Mendes loads for SP, it's how they got him back, and would perhaps gladly pay Spielberg tons more to get him for 25.
Agreed. Nolan isn't bad, but not even close to Spielberg's level. My gut tells me Nolan would make a disappointing, over-complicated Bond film.
Same here. My problems with Nolan is his bad Expository heavy dialogue. It can really be heavy handed and self indulgent sometime.
Agreed again. I love some of his films (Prestige, Dark Knight trilogy), but his flaws are obvious. Always thought Memento and Inception were needlessly complicated and a little pretentious.
Agreed, much better then Nolan. Even though, he is a bit hit or miss these days.
Strangely enough that's how I feel about Casino Royale.
If there already go for American directer then it will be John Wells and movie wil written by him self and Steven Knight (English). One of two/three Bondgirls will be Alicia Vikander.
Burnt (2015) directed by Wells, Cinematopgraphy by Adriano Goldman and written by Steven Knight.
Of course with Bond 26 or Bond 27 with Bond 7 be played by Richard Rankin (Born in 1983). The second Scottish actor as Bond after Connery.
His comment what media think about first American directer for Bond:
BTW, that Rankin guy looks good.
