As for the possibility of an expanded Moneypenny role - I'm all for it. Just make proper use for the character.
Also, considering the Burns news just surfaced it's reassuring to know he's already halfway through the script.
Much of the current rot can sadly be traced back to LTK. That was followed by the team assault on the Russian chem weapons factory in GE. A slippery slope.
The casting rumours don't particularly excite me. I'd prefer some older names with a bit more thespian heft. Denzil Washington as a villain up against Craig would be awesome.
Anyone who saw Thandy Newton in Line of Duty will know she could bring real menace to the screen.
And any love interest needs to be a bit more age appropriate.
I'm not too impressed either.
She was alright in the things I've seen her in. Nothing groundbreaking.
We need more of that less well known casting.
The more recent casting has left me bored.
Edit:
On further thought it is a bit harsh to say her acting is not good enough for a Bond girl role considering the level some previous Bond girls have shown... My point was that her acting does not make her stand out or an obvious choice compared to other talented actresses ;)
@ringfire211 No need to apologise. I think she's gorgeous and a terrific actress to boot. Nyong'o has become a bit of franchise shill after winning the Oscar, so it's kinda no surprise that Bond would be next.
Nonetheless, she’s a terrific talent and I find her captivating to look at. She’s a true beauty.
She was the de facto ‘Bond girl’ in Black Panther, so I’d be unenthusiastic if she just played a similar character here. Personally, I want her to be evil. We need a great female villain in the vein of Fiona Volpe again! Lupita fits that bill terrifically.
Meanwhile, interesting nugget in there concerning Harris. I had earlier speculated that she may get bumped to the female lead this time out (a la Judi in Skyfall). She’s made a convincing argument for it in some of the marketing materials.
Bond 25: Working title for Daniel Craig’s last 007 film revealed after release date delayed again .
Bond 25 may be delayed again, but the forthcoming film has an official working title.
Subscribers to Production Weekly noticed a new update listing the next 007 outing will shoot under the title Shatterhand.
According to the listing, the film’s shoot will begin on 6 April in London’s Pinewood Studios before heading to Matera in Italy.
The working title matches the one revealed in reports from August 2017. The same report claimed that the new film – which will be Daniel Craig‘s last stand as the British spy – would be based on the 2001 novel Never Dream of Dying by Raymond Benson.
Reports also suggested Bond could face a blind villain.
Never Dream of Dying sees Bond start a relationship with Tylyn Mignonne, a film star whose husband is connected to The Union, a recurring crime organisation within the 007 novel series.
The film’s journey so far has been a tumultuous one. In November 2018, Cary Joji Fukunaga replaced Danny Boyle as director and re-wrote his script that had reportedly ruffled up feathers with producers.
While obviously hesitant to reveal any details – not least because the script is not yet complete – Fukunaga has confirmed one rather big point: the new film will bring things full circle for Craig by continuing the arc first presented in Casino Royale, his first outing as 007.
Bond 25 will be released on 8 April 2020.
She's in pre-production for two films at the moment: 355 with Jessica Chastain (a female spy film), and; she's been cast as the lead in John Woo's own re-make of his The Killer. That's why I hate these reports since a certain section of the population will be excited by this news (myself included), but if she decides her slate's too full, it will be perceived as another loss to EoN (when in actuality, it's just the nature of the business)
Depending on how far along in pre-production these films are (355 seems to be ahead of The Killer), tossing B25 into the mix is not impossible, but it will be challenging.
And, assuming the Burns reveal was relatively new (it broke six days ago), knowing that he is half way through is actually more promising than not (and as news drips out of EoN, it seems that that news break itself pissed off quite a number of people, but, as more and more are saying, it's clear this "overhaul" (which made me want to puke), is nothing more than a polish. Assuming Burns is half-way through, this would continue to reinforce that the Playlist highly exaggerated the state of play, and what others are hearing of "polish" is likely bang-on the money.
Good Luck to all on this; lets keep moving forward.
Hey, remember when a girl I'm seeing who works at Pinewood confirmed the new start date after your odd attempts to placate everyone that March 4th was still on? you've been strangely silent on that. You were convinced we needed an Eon announcement. Good to see your "insider" skills are still top-notch.
Anyway, I do concur that Lupita would be a huge coup and change the perception on Bond 25 being a problem child. She looks like she's abount to cement herself in the A-list with Jordan Peele's Us as well. If this film gets as much hype as Get Out then the chances of Lupita signing on do shrink. But never underestimate Babs.
Also, i can already see the think pieces online that Bond is poaching from Black Panther - when they film overtly stole from Bond and in particular Skyfall.
I really wish you would read my posts: as I have stated repeatedly, I report what I hear, and the access I have. I reported a march 2019 start date, and said over and over to Panchito, I had never heard of a March 4 date specifically-- but, you, of course, edit things in your own mind to fit your agenda, my friend.
A March 2019 start was what was reported on EoN's official production site on IMdbPro-- I made that clear and I emailed posters a snapshot of this.
And it's kind of creepy you're keeping an eye on my posts, P2D--I mean seriously, that's messed up!
But, unfortunately for you, you're wrong, again.
As many readers on this thread know, I haven't been "quiet". Because of your disruptive behaviour (including your latest accusation), I have been contacting posters by PM and EM, and we have been sharing information I have collected, or that they have collected...
(plus, you know, real life...).
I'm happy you finally found a person that can feed you information-- as we have joked about you, P2D, you will likely burn that bridge inside of two weeks.
I have asked for you time and again, not to address me. I hope the mods will see this is getting ridiculous and will also give you a friendly reminder, to stop your passive little digs. You come off like the desperate child you are.
Oh. No. Say. It. Ain't. So.
Please. Don't. Punish. Us.
G'day, P2D.
