If we look at the origninal titles we have:
    Goldeneye
    Tomorrow Never Dies
    The World is not enough
    Die another day
    Skyfall
    Spectre

Now when we dissect these what one notices is that 3 of them relate to books in someway, and the other three are actually original. I personally can’t think of a way of Eon connecting B25’s name to Fleming cannon besides shatterhand. I can’t seem to recollect a chapter title or other character with a distinctive enough title for a film. Now if B25 goes down the original- original route then we would likely see die/ live in the title and some surrounding nonsense.

Ofcoarse they could always go with the last two “usable” titles: property of a lady and Risico.

In my mind they won’t choose the former just because it doesn’t sound bond enough- it sounds like a kitchen sink drama and They will be fearful of it hurting the box office. Risico I can see somewhat more likely I guess.

Die Another Day comes from Fleming too.

We can only hope for something Flemingesque ;)

Can’t say I’m fond of many of the titles that have been suggested here...

IMHO, Fleming's greatest talent was his titles. It comes from his journalism background. He even knew when to reject arguably good titles--good enough for anyone other than Fleming--like The Belles of Hell and The Rough With The Smooth.

Eon is well aware of how difficult it is to come up with a Flemingesque title. BB and MGW are both on the record as stating that. So I'm sure the B25 title is a big discussion point at Eon.

Frankly, the true surprise is that Tomorrow Never Dies/Lies made it through, but then again, Eon didn't seem too concerned with Fleming in the '90s.

There's this creepy video of Malek doing the rounds on Twitter today. It's an ad for something, but he's giving off such an unsettling and weird vibe. I think anyone who has yet to see him in anything, can finally see quite how disconcerting this guy is.

He's not a physical menace, but there is something haunting about this guy. Just listen to the way he says 'chamomile tea'. He's got that odd, flamboyant style the great villains have.

With the news that the CIA feature in the film, I'm starting to think that Malek may play a Russian in league with some corrupt American officials in the intelligence agency. Maybe, Bond would need to make contact with Leiter to get to the truth.

I really hope that Billy Magnussen is not playing the new Felix. Jeffrey Wright is just too good not to include. Recently, he has been looking sharp and his profile has risen considerably since CR & QOS.

Getting good vibes from Malek and yes please lets have Wright back.

As good as I'm hoping Bond 25 will be if Jeffrey doesn't get a swansong like DC it will be one of the missed opportunities of this era and it won't be the only one by a long shot.

0 chances Magnussen is goin to play Felix. It has been said that Fukunaga rewrote the part of the CIA agent in order to suite a younger profile, so it’s not goin to be Felix.

I was watching SP last night one thing I couldn't understand when bond says "out of bullets" on the bridge in the end scene, why even pretend to shoot someone when you know you are out of bullets?

I believe, if memory recalls, it's his way of saying, "I'm not going to kill you", and not that he's literally out of bullets, but he is out of bullets in terms of his desire to shoot and kill, hence he throws the gun away and walks back to Madeleine.

Well, actually when he says this to Blofeld he's also literally out of bullets, since he also unload his PPK when he decides not to kill him.

Yes, I forgot that, but basically it is still his way of expressing, "I'm letting you live".

?? It's well established that the character they want Malek for is North African. On a different note I am now predicting that Rami Malek will become the first person EVER to get nominated for an acting Oscar for a Bond movie.

That's a pretty bold statement, considering he's not signed on, nor has the film been shot or seen.
One might've said the same of Bardem or Waltz given the Oscar wins they received before appearing in a Bond film.

I'm sorry, where was that established? Is that part of the Never Dream of Dying rumor?

It would be hugely disappointing if Madeleine weren't the main girl. I still believe she is THE key figure of Bond 25.

I'm guessing she is not the main/primary Bond girl. But she will have the most IMPACT on the story.
I concur with this. Could be interesting provided she's written better than in SP.

@jake24 -- I hate being negative about any script since it ain't an easy job (if it was, each of us with "an idea" would be killing it long ago...

But I feel Lea, no matter what her screen time, will be better served-- immensely served-- in CF's film than Mendes' Sp...
Spectre was such a waste of a brilliantly talented actress, and the fact that her character is so disliked by fans is such a shame because it can really affect people's opinions of the actor/actress themselves.

She must have been more popular in the general public @Denbigh, if she is coming back.
Not really, they kinda pushed themselves into a corner by having Bond leaving the service for/with Madeleine, so it was a no-brainer that she was going to return in some way, shape, or form.

I wouldn't say that. They just put themselves in "multiple options situation". Goin for one last standalone adventure (Boyle, I suppose) or following the overall continuity as established in SP (P&W). They just choose the latter. No one would've complained about the absence of Swann with option 1, trust me.

I think he's giving off a similar vibe in interviews all the time. Good actor though, and I would love to see what he could do as a Bond villain.

A fair point, but then they would’ve probably have had to explain her and his leaving of the service away which would have been seriously lacking. No-one would’ve complained about her absence, no, but a few of us would’ve complained about the complete jump from the ending we got to the stand-alone they could’ve given us. It was okay for Skyfall to be standalone because QoS ended in such a way that made it possible, Spectre did something far from that.

As convoluted as Spectre was, I’m glad they’re not completely ignoring it. Although I am very glad they’re going for a new villain rather than doing the obvious Blofeld-escape (as far as we know)

Not sure if anyone picked up on it, but that video with Malek has him promote Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, which featured in TMWTGG, where Bond and Goodnight 'enjoy' some Phuyuck.

Me too! When I left the theater back in 2015 I had the feeling Craig's arc wasn't done yet. I felt there could have been room for more, expanding what was established in SP. So yes, I'm glad too.

BTW I get your point, but you will always find some Bond fans complaining about something.

That video is quite literally a Bond villain screentest. I can't wait to see what Malek brings.

By the way, do we all remember that casting call from when Boyle was still on-board? Despite Hodge exiting the project, I think it's safe to say that the attributes for both the villain and the Bond girl (whom I assume went from a Russian agent to a British one) will likely remain the same.

    Male Leading Role
    Playing age: 30’s - 60’s
Russian (now North African). (Also open to suggestions of actors from the Balkans or similar) Must speak fluent English.
Characteristics: Charismatic, Powerful, Innovative, Cosmopolitan, Bright, Cold and Vindictive.

    Female Leading Role
    Playing age: 30 - 45
Russian (now British) (Also open to suggestions of actresses from the Balkans or similar) Must speak fluent English.
Very Striking. Strong Physical / fighting / stage combat skills required.
Characteristics: Intelligent, brave, fierce and charming. She's witty and skillful. A survivor.

You know, another reason why I think it's important to bring back Madeleine is because Bond's decision to quit for her to me felt even more profound and symbolic than it was in the movie itself because of CR. Bond already left MI6 for another woman. He resigned in CR, but lasted only for a couple days as we all know. So his decision to make this choice again for another woman, breaking the armor he wore since the end of CR, it's something that really needs further examinations, imo.

I still say whether original title or from Fleming it will be also the name of the finale (similar to casino Royale and Skyfall) my guess is Risico and it will be the name of Malik’s character’s yacht which will be his main base and where bond will kill him

Given that Madeleine is back, it's natural that there will be other connections with the previous film. I expect the villain played by Rami Malek to be connected with SPECTRE. If they do it properly and suggest how powerful and dangerous the whole organization is, they can even bring Blofeld back for the climax, as he won't be regarded as the prick with a USB drive on his ring from the previous episode but the head for a formidable secret society.

I genuinely wish Craig would be back for two films

    The Garden of Death 2020
    Blofield 2022

Then the Hardy era can begin with Smersh 2024

Any chance we may see the DB10 back as well? Would seem a shame to waste a custom car on just one film and one (poor) car chase.

If they want Craig back that's the way to do it. And tie things up with Blofeld for the 60th Anniversary. Very manageable if it's their decision.

They have dragged their feet so long with this one? That their is no way we will have a film now in 2022. Which to me is a massive missed opportunity.

    Agreed.

I think if they bring Waltz back, it will be in a Silence of the Lambs-type scene. I imagine it'll be akin to Alice Morgan in Luther. It'll likely be nothing more than a cameo.

Waltz had his chance. I want them to give as much possible screentime for Malek to shine.

Also, according to Lipstick Alley, Fukunaga and Kirstine Froseth flew by private jet to Norway.

There is speculation that filming may be taking place sooner rather than later there...
