If we don’t hear something by Wednesday it probably won’t happen this week, based on SP’s 2-days prior announcement for its press conference.
We knew about the SP press conference SIX days in advance. Press invites have to go out much earlier than 2 days in advance.
  • In theory, we could have an announcement tomorrow that the press conference is going to happen on April 4. Crossing fingers!

I swear what is it with you and Barbara Broccoli. You seem to have a love/hate relationship with your vegetables.

"Skyfall" and "SPECTRE" started filming on a Monday and their Press Conference was on a Thursday.

Guys, please tell me there will be a press conference this week! :( Remember, MI6-HQ posted this just 9 days ago:
Of course. This Thursday April 4th. Trust me.
And the film will be called Wavelink.

Luckily for you, sir, we do have one left. Cutting edge technology that will revolutionize cars, called the Q-Electro.

Isn't anyone on the know? :) Can't Mi6 directly approach EON and ask if we can expect a press conference to coincide with filming? Wouldn't that be legitimate and non intrusive? Not catering to fans or anything, just a nod to film media online. I know that, if I was part of cinema news, say a Writer for Variety or other film news outlet, I'd want to know and have the exclusive.

    Probably not.

Sorry to disappoint you. But ask the mods.

I just wanted to follow on from my other post about Cary Fukunaga. It's also nice to have someone fresh and new because it's what we need after Spectre. I know people have cut the film a lot of slack more recently but I haven't and I cannot see anything but a febel attempt from Sam Mendes to try and create another James Bond film. I think it's quite clear that he had made the film he wanted to make with Skyfall, and this was just another crack at it with no real passion (in my opinion). For example, Skyfall was a celebration of the franchise for sure but it peppered in it's references and homages, tightly and efficiently, without blatantly ripping scenes from the original films and making the "homages" a whole scene of the movie. Skyfall was modern yet Fleming and also a worthy addition to the franchise.

To me, Spectre was a weaker attempt at this and while they may have thought they were paying the same respect and creating something original, at the end of the day, they were just ripping any aspect they could from the original films to try and create a new story. It's not big and it's certainly not clever. It makes the story feel redundant and lazy. When you base your creation on moments rather than characters and plot you're pretty much damning yourself to a weak film. Anyway bringing this back round, bringing on someone new brings back that opportunity that Mendes had, to create the film he wanted to make and something he felt was new yet paying respect to the franchise. Now it's Fukunaga's turn and I think he's gonna do a bloody good job.

    Damn, @DoctorKaufmann ;)

But I'm not disappointed at all. What will be will be. Just thought I should ask if they've already tried at some point to establish somewhat of a connection with EON. JamesPage or someone.

I agree with all of this. I just wish the story was free from the continuum established.

Fukunaga when he looked at the story he had to follow...

I got an email that is either awesome or the worst April fools day joke ever

The working title of the new film may have changed to ECLIPSE (but then that source was removed) and today Corneel Van Fleteren claims an unnamed source sent evidence that the new title is THE PROPERTY OF A LADY.
Please keep in mind that today is April Fool's Day in the USA.

@MaxCasino, the only thing I know is that one of the main producers returned to London from Norway late Friday night early Saturday morning. I can only guess that with the arrival of Craig in the UK, that this means things will be more London centric starting in the next day or two.

I have no idea when the press conference will be, but, and I’m guessing, I feel it will be a few weeks into shooting.

I also am highly dubious of any leaked title so far as I believe most of not all are hoaxes or children wanting attention as for what I think the title is ....

I was talking to Canada’s 007 last night about this and I think a short story title would be good as it would allow IFP to re released the short stories again with a new cover similar to what they did for Quantum (jacuzzis and Champaign don’t pay for themselves) but that is just a shot in the dark I fear no inside info

Thanks @peter I also have the feeling we’ll get a conference after filming begins at Pinewood. It happened before after all.
