I’m loving the sound of this synopsis, although like many have said, it’s writing and structure is a bit sloppy. Not only does it sound like we’re finally getting higher stakes for the Craig era, but I love the use of quite a traditional plot (a kidnapped scientist) within this realistic modern 007 setting.

Can't wait to see Bond enjoying the good life in Jamaica. Do you think he'll be playing some baccarat or poker? When was the last time we saw Bond having fun in his time off? Anyone?

    DAD?

Damn, that scared me ;) For all the wrong reasons.

I mean, you could probably find moments in the Craig era where he's has his more relaxed moment, but not on the same way as Brosnan in the DAD Cuba sequence for example.

Damn, that scared me ;) For all the wrong reasons. Although to be fair, if DUD has something good its those scenes in Cuba.

But wait, wasn't he on some mission, even if not sanctioned? I'm talking about time off from duty and personal vendettas. Like Lazenby in the casino. Connery in Miami. Can't really think of any other example. Pure fun in his own time without hidden agendas.

Edit: Didn't see you've edited your comment. You are right about this – being completely off duty. That hasn't happened in a long time. Brosnan Bond did enjoy himself quite a bit in Cuba though, even if looking for Zao.

Relaxed, yes. You're absolutely right. But still on a mission, personal or not.
I mean, when have we seen Bond on his own personal time, with no agenda?

Also, and about that pic, my eyes wouldn't be set so high ;)

DC came over better in some of the other recorded interviews. But let's face it he's not Mr charisma in an interview. He ums and ahs a lot and really struggles to convey energy and enthusiasm. He's probably rather private and introverted.

Is he really the most scrutinised and under pressure. Try telling Connery that during the filming of YOLT in Japan. Literally hounded everywhere he went.

It would be nice instead of always saying Craig totally invented the flawed and vulnerable screen bond that they acknowledged Laz and Dalts once in a while.

I think that was the zenith of his issues, I would argue Craig has had to put up with hassle from the get go.

Connery certainly didn't have his performance criticized or had his interpretation assassinated before it hit the screen.

If Connery would have had to deal with what DC got from the moment he was announced, think he'd have thrown in the towel much sooner than he did.

Christ, some of us a really going far in their "DIS WILL NOT BE WUT I WANT" panic.

No panic on my part, so I don't know what you are interpreting from my post.

I'm just pointing out that Connery never had the internet to contend with.

I'm totally relaxed and never have been one of those to interpret Craig's mood in an interview, people just nit pick for the sake of it, especially the crowd that dislike this era.

Daniel Craig is who he is and doesn't put on airs and graces to please the interviewer. If you don't like that in your current Bond, maybe the next one will have etiquette lessons that will be up your high standards.

When in CR? And in SF I wouldn't call that enjoyment. He was depressed and copying with it, wasn't he? :)

Throughout the series, I can only remember Lazenby in the Casino and Connery in Miami in GF and with Sylvia in Dr. No and FRWL.

Yes, why I said to a lesser extent. The Venice scenes with Vesper after he resigned.

I think Babs said he will be "sailing his yacht" when she talked about him enjoying life.
I also think we'll see scenes of him swimming and diving.

I would also count the scenes with Vesper having dinner at the casino after he has beaten Le Chiffre. It's really a short, calm scene. Bond really feels relaxed there.

Any news reporter asking Cary if the Gunbarrel will be back at the start? I hope Craig keeps up his tradition of making a new barrel for each of his films.

It will be good to have a brief scene with Craig’s Bond relaxing, but even more important to me is bringing back the vacation vibe of the movie itself. It’s impossible to be in Jamaica without it and it’s a crucial element of Bond and missing really since CR.

Considering that we'll be spending time in Bond's home did anyone consider that we may see May, his housekeeper for the first time? It may time for her to make an appearance in the films.

I think he was perfectly fine in the way he gave his answers and overall mood. Wouldn't ask for more really.

This is a very good point. The best Bond film have a certain amount of vacation vibe to them.

Unfortunately @MaxCasino, I don’t think May will ever make an appearance because she’ll never effect the story or move it forward. Plus in this day and age, it would just be a bad idea to have a housekeeper in a modern Bond film. You’re just asking for the film and the character to be ridiculed :/

Well, maybe one day. A Nobody Lives Forever adaption, perhaps?

To me the plot has shades of the following Fleming stories
For your eyes only (bond being asked by a colleague to do a personal mission)
The spy who loved me (protecting a professor)
The Hildebrand Rarity (bond relaxing on an island before being brought into this)
    And
Moonraker (the deadly technology part which I believe Drax was definitely building it’s been a while since I read the Fleming novels)

All in all the plot much like Quantum and Obviously Casino to me screams Fleming so yeah I am happy though to be fair even Skyfall and Spectre had shades of Fleming so yeah... consider me hopeful and excited I still say the synopsis screams
the Hildebrand Rarity to me with title referring to the dangerous technology and likely location of the finale

But I know I am the only one who sees this well in August I will either be proven right or wrong

It should just be a requirement of the composer and title song artist that they work together. At the very least the composer should have it in their contract that they work the title theme into the score.
They did that with both SF and SP. Inserted the title theme melody in the movie. But only once in each (SF - Macao, and SP - the Morocco train establishing shot). It was a creative decision, not because of any contracts, to my knowledge.
