By that standard, it wasn't "official" that Ben Whishaw was playing Q until Eon announced it in the summer of 2012, even though he had *filmed all his scenes* for Skyfall. The casting had been disclosed much earlier by Whishaw's agent, but Broccoli and Craig denied it as late as the spring of 2012, with Craig saying, "All agents are liars." Well, not in this case.
Michael Wilson said no in late 2015 during an interview, though he said he thought Craig would be back.
Correct. Disney do not need Bond, as I've been saying for some time.
If anything I'd like to see lionsgate.
Next 007 right there just cast him and get Matthew Vaughn to direct with Steven Knight And Chris Mcquarrie to write
There you go I will take my 500 dollar finders fee thanks
News: Man proposes other man in suit for 'Bond' role.
This.
And those pushing for Elba to be Bond are (sort of) inverted racists. So keen to prove themselves to be non-racist that they actually end up being racist towards there own kind.
If I was Elba I would be slightly insulted if anything, watching these pathetic 'trendy liberals' as Wiz puts it cheering me on for no other reason than I'm a black actor in a white actors world. I'm sure talent and ambition will carry Elba further and he doesn't need a baying group of useless journos fighting his corner to play Bond.

This is seemingly confirming what we all suspected. Babs wants Craig back. There's no firm release date but it's either 2018 or 2019. All the "next Bond" hype is a little too early.
In other news, I saw High-Rise last night and was more convinced of Hiddleston's performance in that film than the Night Manager. He had a certain elegance and insouciance reminiscent of a young Connery, especially in the way he smokes his cigarettes and flirts with Sienna Miller.
In fact, the combination of Hiddleston, Miller and Jeremy Irons in a Bond film would be terrific.
Yes.
Thanks for posting. And like @NicNac I agree that does make sense now. I think many already suspected that but like just as many really didn't want that to be true. That is that B25 is not expected until at least 2018.
That and also that Craig's return is still an uncertain.
On the other hand which maybe just what I am reading into the interview is that Broccoli is more cautious and rethinking with potential script development. Not that time is the answer.
I remember now that the new EoN occasionally needs to focus on other non Bond projects. Didn't we have those same rumblings in interviews post DAD? Not sure.
Anyway gear up for a wait. I can just image the life this thread is going to take.
They may screen test people, but it will be down to Craig to officially jump ship
As always your condesending is most appreciated.
Sorry but I showed Amanda (my wife) a video "best moments of Eames" (Hardy's character in inception) and she agrees he could make a brilliant Bond.
Condescension.
Oh well, that changes everything. I used to think that Hardy would be a terrible Bond, but if Risico007's wife says he could make a brilliant Bond I guess I'll have to agree with her.
Glad everyone now agrees with my wife... No I was telling that story as she is far from a bond fan (she has only seen the four Craig era films she liked Casino Royale and Quantum but didn't like Skyfall or Spectre) and that casual fans could take to Hardy easily...
Like I said with no official news except for the 2018 thing which we all already knew there is nothing else much to discuss...
While I would love for Craig to return I am slowly moving on from him and trying to get more excited about another actor
Is 2018 referring to the year or the amount of pages this thread will be before the film is released.
