I agree. Maybe could have done more with the helicopter boat sequence.. but IMO the London climax felt fresh not necessarily a rehash of old.
Now the whole driving off into the sunset with Madeleine was puzzling to me. The great albatross for B25.
Ok I see that and yea both films even almost looked the same at the ending. But I can't fault SP since both films were in production at almost the same time or at least close enough in time.
I enjoyed RN but sometimes I wish I had seen SP first. That's not a jab at SP by the way.
Oh of course. Remember RN got pushed ahead to summer. Otherwise, would we be asking the question did RN copy SP instead of the other way around. The whole being captured part just didn't fit in a Bond film. Not to mention it only lasted what like two minutes? Definitely something that probably could have been eliminated.
Took me sometime to figure out.
So you're not a fan of the laser table scene in GF then?
Yes :) ..for the longest I thought everyone was comparing Bond to a nurse.
I absolutely love the GF scene. However, the scene in SP wasn't as tense as almost having your nuts zapped to shreds. Perhaps I should re-judge that sequence once home video is released.
Baffled me too by that!
Yes it's one of the cooler moves on the part of Bond. I personally am glad it's there.
Bond is in a car with Tanner, Q and M if I remember. They are blindsided by SP goons, Bond is captured, masked and thrown into the back of a van. Then they get out of the van and Bond disables the goons, breaks free of the zip ties, removes the masks. Then I believe he looks up at the old MI6 building.
Anyone feel free to correct me if im wrong.
I was just addressing the comment you made about "The whole being captured part just didn't fit in a Bond film". His capture is not disimilar to the GF scene with the goons running him off the road.
He also gets captured in Casino Royale, both book and film.
Yeah I probably should have rephrased that because he seems like he is captured in most of the films.
There are multiple instances, 'Whisper, take him to the farm', 'Chloryl Hydrate!'... etc. Just found the notion of him being captured 'not fitting in a Bond film' odd.
Not sure if there will be one but I am coming up with my own fan story of what I would want it to be like.

Blofeld IS a demon.
Make that three.
For sure. I'd like to see the next one avoid that.
