I think the PTS of Bond 25 will be the escape of Blofeld.

Ehh I hope not. I want to see how he escapes, how it's done etc.

Somebody suggested a trial of Blofeld. That would be interesting. And of course he needs to escape shortly thereafter.

It'd be great to see a scene with Blofeld at trial with Bond on standby to appear. Blofeld would visibly show he'd bought the jury or judge, and found a way to get off on his charges.

They could do a big action scene for an escape, where a team of gunmen arrive in an attack helicopter too, but more realistically they could also have Blofeld being used by the British government for his information, representing a bit of a plea deal between he and the criminal court. Bond would be disheartened by the cooperation of his government.

An alternative theory to the one that has been promulgated here recently, just to keep it interesting:

A few points I want to make again (to much to multi quote) someone had pointed out the last film for each actor is usually the weakest

let's honestly discuss this for a moment as a lot of time it's not the actor's fault

Connery stayed on 2 films too long largely due to the producers being to afraid to recast (and when they did in the middle of those 2 films they got a male model) Had Connery actually cared about his performance You only live Twice would of been far better as for Diamonds Are Forever a better script and a plot closer to the book and the film would of been much better (heck even if we got the salt mine ending that would of been better)

Lazenby did one film and is fine

Moore really again A view to a Kill isn't his fault had he left after Octopussy he would of left on such a high note in fact For your Eyes Only and Octopussy are both fantastic films and honestly the best of the Moore era in my opinion. AVTAK isn't horrible and isn't even the weakest Moore entry (that is Moonraker)

Dalton is fantastic in both entries

Brosnan... Die another Day could of been WAY better but oh well like I said everything (apart from the cgi thing) up until the return to North Korea and about 50% of Berry's Dialogue is great the rest well yeah the rest is stupid and bad and horrible and just GOD... but the stuff before that (especially the Cuba and London stuff) is fantastic.

So it's not really the actors fault a lot of the time...

As for what this means for Bond 25 if Mendes is back (as I fear he is) we will get a middle of the road bond film not great not bad just ok. and I am fine with that as I don't mind having a mediocre bond film every once and a while just hoping Bond 26 brings us back to that Casino Royale level of excitement (maybe even using The Hildebrand Rarity as the title my personal favorite of the unused titles)

Indeed. I posted it to remind everyone that we don't know as much as some of us seem to think we do. Surprises are still possible, even if that article isn't credible.

I didn't say it was. I do stand by my view that if a changeover is to come in today's social media obsessed world, it's better if it happens after a less than stellar last entry (for whatever reason), since that allows the new chap to ease into the role more readily.

I don't think it's a very smart thing to wish for a bad bond film.

Once again the press clutching at straws.

They seemed to be giving the wrist slashing comment credence still when the rest of us have moved on from that, I'm thinking it's more likely DC is returning and I for one would if it is his last for it to be a barnstormer.

If only to wash the bad taste of SPECTRE out of my mouth, I've been a big advocate of this era and it would be a shame to end on such a dud!

I think given the fragments of news we've gotten in the past month, I'm about 80% sure DC is returning and we're heading to a late 2018 release. The bigger question to me is will Mendes be returning. I would rather he didn't but its hard to imagine another director coming on board for one final DC film which will more than likely (unfortunately) carry on at least some of SP's story elements. It seems that Mendes would want to close out his trilogy in a more neat way than how SP ended, and I'm sure DC would be on board for that. The only thing is if I were the producers I would be hesitant to keep the same director for three consecutive films, especially given the mixed results of SP, as the series needs variety in order to keep growing and please everyone. I guess ultimately BB's love for Craig will triumph and he will get what he wants, which is for Mendes to come one last time, along with Waltz and possibly Seydoux.

I'm a little burnout with the likes of Mendes and Newman but I don't mind them returning too much if it means we get one more DC adventure, Waltz returning and the opportunity to make up for the mild disappoint of SP. I doubt the next film will get as out of hand as SP did, I think EON are typically good at learning from their mistakes, at least in the short term.

If I'm not mistaken, the only firm news we know is Croatia and the helicopter. Neither of these items relate specifically to Craig. They do suggest 2018 rather than 2019 imho.

The rest is all inference and speculation based on someone's expression when answering a question, hearsay by some supporting cast member (again speculating), and possible meetings with a watch manufacturer that may or may not relate specifically to Bond and may just be discussions relating to whether Craig is going to stay on as a brand ambassador (read the quote).

We can all have out wishful thinking either way, and certainly there is a higher probability that Craig will return based on the combination of facts and rumours, but ultimately EON & Craig are playing it coy. Anything is still possible, since they have not confirmed nor have they denied.

Someone mentioned a few pages ago that Craig is probably the kind of person that would not wait too long and announce he was stepping down to get away from all the publicity for a while and I'm inclined to agree. I suspect I'm overthinking but In a way no news to me indicates it more and more likely that DC will be back. Obviously a decision has probably not been made either way yet, but as pre-production is seemingly beginning to move forward with the helicopter, Croatia news etc. I think it would be more and more unusual for a new actor to now be announced unless it happens relatively soon. Either that or the producers have done a pretty good job of keep their cards close to their chest.

I fail to see how this justifies posting rubbish links, though.

We've gotten more production news than ever before, and Craig is on the move with his Bond brands, so one logical (key word "logical") inference that can be made is that he may be doing pre-Bond 25 work to put his eggs in a basket.

That logical jump has way more validity to it than people posting random picks for the next Bond actor, one, because they're usually bookie picks, two, because the choices suck and/or wouldn't ever happen anyway, and three, I would bet my kidney, liver and spine that Dan isn't leaving.

We have to speculate with what we have to go on, but the logic part is hard to grasp for some, as we still have to hear about how bookies are betting on Bond. That issue is as relevant to Bond production as the Trojan war is to our current military.

One can speculate on the Omega situation, but as I've mentioned the fact is nobody knows. I've already mentioned that he is an Omega brand ambassador on his own, that Baselworld 2017 is imminent, and that Omega needs help as their results (as are many watch manufacturers) aren't impressive. The new CEO of Omega was asked a question and he answered. If one reads the quote, it's just confirming a meet (to possibly discuss future cooperation and potential contracts). Even Harris hawks Omega.

At the end of the day it makes sense to assume that they have spent the past year focusing on script and location options. Why wouldn't they? Gregg Wilson pretty much said they were looking at options a while back. Croatia may or may not be a location since it hasn't been confirmed (I remember India being discussed a lot for SF and it didn't happen). We don't know what the helicopter's purpose is.

So, disappointing as it may be to some, we are all entitled to speculate the way we see fit until we get some real confirmation from the honchos in the know. I posted that link a few posts above to remind people of what is being speculated here and what is fact. Not to suggest that Elba has a crack at Bond. I think most people on this thread are bright enough to separate fact from fiction.

I'm not ready to bet any of my body parts yet. As I've said it does appear that he's more likely to return than not based on the speculation in combination with the facts we know.

I think the most likely concrete information will come shortly when MGM has its conference, hopefully.

"I think most people on this thread are bright enough to separate fact from fiction."

    Sometimes I damn well wonder.

I just want something conclusive to be announced from Dan and EON, then I can get my, "I told you sos" over with and all the random and nonsense speculation can finally be canned for a few more years.
