Your favorite Bond is Moore, so I'd have assumed parody was to your liking.
Haha I like all the actors except for lazenby but yes I do find Moore is the most consistently good even though his films although delightful are just above the Brosnans
Agreed. Especially when you consider the fates of Vesper, Solange and what one can only imagine what White likely did to Valenka as she was also on the docking boat in which he killed LeChiffre. The idea of the Bond/White death scene is good but it fails on execution because of some of the lines they got White to say. This is just one of many MANY reasons why I strongly dislike SP.
Very good point. Done in the right way audiences enjoy seeing a star age. Dan can do two more if he wants.
Trump is at least giving power back to the people, some of the things he is doing sure I may not like. Id rather have him than the nut that had a meltdown on election night, physically assaulted her campaign staff & had to be restrained.
Having said that, Trump is probably an existential threat to the US, whereas Hillary was simply mildly dishonest.
Alas, this thread is really getting derailed with these political discussions. I, as a fan, am not here to side with a political party or ideology. This is a place to discuss Bond solely. An entertainment piece. Otherwise, I wouldn't have joined at all.
When the real world is more outlandish than a Bond movie then where do EON go next?
Muh we can't write a bond film because of trrrrruuuuuummp Muh . Their just idiots Bond has had nothing to do with western politics except for that silly phone call with margret thatcher. What does purvis want a call at the end of bond 25 where trump congratulates bond and bond turns gay because he remembersSilvia and he's speaking through a parrot and the parrot goes " ohhhh trump give me a kiss"
Attempting to mirror geopolitics in a fast changing world is only going to leave them flat footed and behind the curve. Events are changing too fast and with the long planning cycle that they have these days, if they go in one direction by the time they get the next film out something entirely different could have occurred on the world scene.
So if I were them, I'd just keep the politics out of it.
No why do u say that
I'm not advocating that we need to inject politics into Bond anymore than usual, but even "abstract escapism" has to be founded on something. I'm certainly reluctant to see Bond become devoid of cultural touchstones.
Kind of like blofeld
@bondjames There was an additional silver DB11 next to the AM-RB 001. I didn't care for the orange either.
[-( (:| :-< :-w :-?
To some degree we've already had it. Bond's BMW in TND was artificially intelligent, and the Aston in TLD had augmented reality with the laser projected crosshairs on the windshield. As much as I am a proponent of gadgets in Bond films, I'm not sure I want to see too much of this kind of stuff. What we've already had was great, but anything more advanced than that might be a little rich. Bond's gadgets are usually more clever and novel, not so much techie. Augmented reality contact lenses might be cool though, with Bond receiving mission info and facial recognition data in real time.
I would like to see it as part of a criminal plot. A plan involving mass adoption of some sort of new technology which has a nefarious secondary purpose. I don't mean in the 60's sort of cheesy way, but in a darker & more clandestine manner, rather than so obviously. It would take some decent script writers versed in sci fi, but I think it could be done.
Failing which, they can always dust off Dalton's third B17 script featuring robots ;)
That could be pretty good.
Also, there was a B17 script involving robots?!?!
