Totally.
My prediction: 2015.
Yes!!!
That's a little too close and optimistic, I'm thinking more along the lines of 2046 or 1933.
If it's because they're so expensive cut the budget, SP's budget worked against it in the end.
Haha, we shall see.
Yes, I remember that. It was with that announcement and the comments made at the time about the homour that Logan brought to the table that suggested to me back then the direction that they ended up taking in Spectre - more humorous and in step with earlier Bonds. It was all there then, the way Spectre turned out really shouldn't have surprised anyone.
I suspect, rather than disinterest, it is the increasingly convoluted mountain of red tape that one must plow through in order to make a major motion picture these days. Then too, the drama over DC's return can't be helping things.
Listening to you whinge about other people whinging is the most depressing thing to me.
Pffft. As if one counter-example is dispositive.
My predictions in 2006 they will do Casino Royale 2008 Quantum of Solace 2012 Skyfall 2015 Spectre and after that who knows maybe 2018 for the Hildebrand rarity
i remember back when MGM was going through their bankruptcy stuff - it dragged on... and on.... and on.... to the point where it looked like nothing would get done, and we'd have to wait even longer for Bond 23 (SF)... but once the ball got rolling, things seemed to get wrapped up fairly quickly....
we don't know what the conversations are behind closed doors... to us, it comes off like EON and MGM and just sitting around twiddling their thumbs waiting for the phone to ring with an offer... but the reality is, is that negations have been ongoing - and that typically means a lot of legalese to machette through... MGW might have wanted to get a new distributor by Feburary or March... but this is something that could very stretch into the summer or fall - and with Bond 25 not slated until 2018, there is no rush... EON will continue to work on the story/script with whoever they bring in - while MGM does the heavy lifting to find a new distributor, and also a good deal that works for everyone.
the best comment said on this forum about who would be the head of an evil organization like Quantum - was no one...... i can't remember who came up with the idea, but it was absolutely brilliant..... Bond would in essence be chasing a ghost - they members would speak of an "overseer" type person, the majority believing one actually exists - somewhere, in a hollowed out volcano (lol).. but the reality is, is that this person doesn't exist..
if Othello is later this year (2016)... and if the Purity TV series films next year (2017), that leaves 2018 wide open.. and Bond films have always had that early year production schedule (usually starting in January)..... so it's possible, even do-able, if that schedule holds true...
it's just all on whether Craig wants to do that or not.
a comment like that - one simply does not understand what it takes to get these things made...
The Hunger Games had a source material to poach and adapt from - they didn't have to sit back and create their own story from scratch..
Marvel movies are coming out fast - but thats also because there is a well laid plan in place, story wise, that Marvel is following... what you don't see, is that the movies coming out now, were conceived years ago - they didn't just sit down last summer and try to hash out a story for Captain America 3, that story has already been in a can for a long time.... keep in mind, Marvel right now - has a storyline plan in place that will take them through the year 2028.. so trust me, it looks like they are simply turning and burning these suckers out once a year, or once every other year - but they are not... Civil War was being worked on already before Winter Soldier had even come out..
Yes... given how wonderfully creative and not-cliche SP was that script must have taken lots of time and ingenuity.
But you are absolutely right so I do concede. M:I has even longer waits between installments I understand.
Looking back the last three decades have given us one decent bond film each
Goldeneye
Casino royale
Skyfall
If the next one isn't out for 3 to 4 years that's three good films in 30 years.
Compare this with what other franchises have achieved critically and commercially and you can see why Bond seems old fashioned. Not the character, the way they manage the filmmaking process.
Eon now seem old school.

He certainly looks the part.
quote from article.
To be honest I would hate it if any of them got the role...
Aidan Turner save us please!
=)) love it!
I do think unless they are done back to back? Hopefully DC will do the 5th film and Eon's 25th but then he will hang up his shoulder holster.
I still think 2018 is the next time we will see Bond. They say early planning stages for Bond 25 are about to begin if not have already done so? As for being being a part of the creative process? If their is a wealth of material already fleshed out possibility wise? Then DC and Directer, producers, writers .....etc. Can then thrash things out as DC would have rested and done other things as we know.
