Alright, alright. So far, we have two for OP and two for FYEO.

@CommanderRoss, I like the play on words there. Just so hard to stay on topic when things like that keep happening. Might have to ventilate someone.

Probably 'The Empire Strikes Back', he made a damn good Boba Fett ;-)

But I'll have to give it to Octopussy, he followed Kamal to the airport (that was him, right?) and had a neat little gadget.

Could anyone list Smithers' appearances in each of his films and what he does, please? I honestly can't remember what he did. Thanks.

He's in FYEO and OP, mostly being experimented on by Q. In OP, he's the one who opens the lethal door and in FYEO he has the killer gypsum around the arm.

DAD. He finally grew into the role. He wasn't bébé-lala like in TWINE, or totally outshined by everyone like in GE.

TND for me,he looked good in it and had some big punch-ups : eg,Carvers Events evening,The Newspaper factory etc..
  • I agree with @barryt007. Seems to be a common theme, in my opinion, that the actors put in their best Bond performances in their 2nd movie (with the exception of GL of course).

    So TND it is.

Brosnan was always bad as Bond, but the lesser evil of his interpretation comes from the worst movie of them all, DAD. How ironinc!

The only time I could take him seriously as being able to win a fight: TND.

For me its TND. Seemed a bit more secure with the role and looked his best (though I still really enjoy him in GE). The "me too" line with Kaulfman was spot on aswell.

I wish I could do a mixture of the 4 bond films he was in as there are great scenes and moments in all of them but all have obvious flaws (half way through a murder investigation a nuclear sub just magically springs up...) but with a gun to my head I would have to say The World is Not Enough.

Well, in TND he's got the Paris Carver scene, drinking the vodka. Nice.
In TWINE he's got...erm...not really any Bondian scenes at all, I'm afraid. Great.
In Dad he's got the fencing, and the meeting with M, where he actually has some dignity. Perhaps his and the Pike's scenes are good too. Cool.
In GE he's got...well, the meeting with Wade. Everything else seems a bit over-acted.
So, oddly enough, I think I'll choose DAD.

    Which is nice.

I'd say a very Bondian scene in TWINE was the one at the casino. Always liked the "after you, I insist" line while jamming a gun in Mr Bullion's back. To me that seems very Bond-esque.

It is interesting to read of praise for DAD from you, Luds.

Anyway, I vote for DAD. The older, more haggard approach was good for Brosnan. Plus, it was his least PC performance. There's also a superconfidence that a Bond actor gives to his 4th turn in the role(Connery in TB, Moore in MR) that Brosnan brings here.
