@MrBond I completely agree with my esteemed colleagues dramaticscenesofQOS & Ali here; that was a wonderfully detailed and thoughtful review of the movie, and the journey Bond made in it. You words threw into sharp relief things that had been dancing at the edge of my consciousness, yet lacked the solidification necessary for a deeper conscious understanding of why I love this movie so much. You gave me (us) that. Thank you. If it's possible, you helped me to love this (future classic) movie even more.

QoS also has Arnold's better scores.

Am I the only one thinking La Perla de la Duna was tragically underused? Great little villain's hideout.

Wow, that analytical assessment from @MrBond was brilliant. An excellent and thoroughly detailed review of a movie, that on the surface is, front loaded with action but it is under the surface one of the deepest and thoroughly, character developed Bond movies coated with subtle execution. However, the film's editing is a massive deterrence but I'll definitely give QoS

Currently watching Quantum of Solace and I had to pause just to come here and comment and add another plus point to QoS ; Out of all three films, in Quantum Craig has the best Bond hairstyle. Not to short and not too spiky. That is all. I will now continue watching this highly entertaining movie. :D

I can't remember who it was, I think it may have been @DaltonCraig or @Getafix who said Craig's hair in QoS looked like someone had stepped on his head. As much as I disagreed with such a comment, I couldn't stop laughing.

    You're right on that!
  • Lots of modern style blended with a retro-look. If you see all the juxtaposition between M and Bond while he's in Haiti. Then we get the opera house which feels so modern and has some cinematography that features different angles like when Bond is confronting Greene and his guards.

Yusef's apartment had a lot of 60's style to it.

    .

Yusef's apartment had a lot of 60's style to it.

It would do,it was a barracks in Aldershot....

  • The lamp on his table was round and unique but it was the eco hotel in Perlas de Las Dunas, and the aeroplane which had that retro style.

Anytime there is an appreciation thread people will visit it, The Brosnan threads suffered far more abuse in that sense.

But I agree those kind of remarks are not done.

Quantum of Bourne did have a strong performance by Daniel Craig and Judy Dench, I appreciate their work.

  • QoS really set the whole M & Bond relationship firmly before SF. It's like Marc Forster started this theme and Sam Mendes took it and ran with it (I mean this as a compliment to Mendes).

How hypocrisy runs rampant. Slap someone's wrist for being disrespectful of the topic at hand while taking a jab yourself.

    Terrible movie.

Horribly edited action scenes.Heck the whole film is horribly edited.A Bond who comes across as a low life psychotic scumbag.Boring plot.Crap villains. No gadgets.

Its not a Bond movie. Its a bad Bourne movie.

QOS has one of the best female co-stars, and really good chemistry between her & Craig.

The chemistry was much better. Camille was beyond her years.

I found this on another site, thought it worth sharing:

"If you walk in the cinema expecting CR II: The Revenge, you will be disappointed. If you walk in the cinema expecting a good time because it's the new Bond film, you'll have a great time. QOS is, to me, the Tomorrow Never Dies to Casino Royale's GoldenEye - it's not as brainy, or thought provoking, but it's damned entertaining, and it delivers action and excitement in spades."

I think QoS is just as thought-provoking as CR, but that's just me. The central character study of Bond as he goes through the entire grieving process is brilliant, one of the pinnacles of the film.

That's why the dramatic scenes and the psychological aspects of the action scenes (representing Bond inner turmoil) are what make me like the film along with other symbolisms and realistic qualities. The soundtrack was wrll done, truly.

I think I can say that we both appreciate Arnold's music better than the other fellow scoring the music.

Sorry.I will try to say something nice about QOS...

I think Gemma Arterton looked cute.

I thought the bit where Bond hands the unconcious body of Camille to a dude on the dock and says '' Here, shes seasick '' was funny.

I liked Camille, despite the fact that she looked like she had been spray painted orange.

    Umm...thats about it.
