well, it is more of a truck chase :P
...which IIRC is the only truck chase in the Bond canon so far
Rather than use a high round ammunition weapon with near guarantee to hit Bond from close range, with no risk of self inflicted damage... the man chooses a pack of dynamite! Which not only presented a fatal risk (that occurred!), but would also have had a low success rate in the first place. Not only did it require a direct hit, but the dynamite throw would need to have been timed perfectly, because if he throws too early it just bounces off Bond and lands on the poor civilian passersby on the bridge.
Then again... my mind doesn't work like that of a former nazi scientist, with a passion for steroid genetic breeding and equestial frivolities.

From the making of book:
I was released 26 days later.
:D
Correct.
The High Commissioner was made at Pinewood Studios, so it's maybe not a surprise to see a few furniture pieces being reused.
Up his ass.
It's another funny little step Connery does, in TB. When they meet up with Pinder and Felix asks who the girl is ("Paula Caplan, my assistant here") we see them walking off, and cue Connery engaging in some fancy footwork. He looks at Martine, turns back to look ahead, and at the last second, spots a guy coming towards him, carrying a basket with his elbow sticking out.
It looks like his left foot slips on something, but what actually happens: with panther-like reflexes, Connery pops out his left foot, switching the weight onto his right foot, and twists his left shoulder forward and down, avoiding a collision with the oncoming man's elbow. Amazing 'feat' there. Unrehearsed, improvised; kept in the film.
Excuse me while I flick my genuine Felix lighter!
The driver of the Ford chasing the Lotus, is wearing the same shirt and tie combo as Bond. I'm guessing it's one of the stunt drivers who doubled Roger Moore.
Never noticed this before
