Good topic ....there are some great one liners but a couple of my favourites would be
    "Shocking ....Positively Shocking"
    "He got the Boot"
" The things we do for frequent flier miles "

That could be my least favourite of all Brosnan's typically terribly delivered one liners. Hehe ;)

Honey:"Are you looking at my shells?"
    Bond:"No, I'm just looking."

Another Connery: "The things I do for England."

    DAF: Blofeld: "Good shot Bond."
    Bond: "But wrong pussy."

DN: "I think they were on their way to a funeral."

CR: "You're a Miss Stephanie Broadchest"....shortly followed by: "I do hate it when religion comes between us."

At the end: "The bitch is dead."

Those are it for me. For now that is......
    :-?

@Luds, oh, you, haha. Okay, something anti-Brosnan in my eyes: the line he says to Miranda Frost after the swordfight in DAD. Something along the lines of 'Will I have the pleasure of you in Iceland?" to which she replies "You will never have that pleasure." I don't know, something like that, but the wince he gives her after that is just terribly delivered.

I find that Brosnan was not sole responsible for all his bad one liners. Part bad delivery, part too much forced facial action, but really really bad writing. It became a joke during his tenure, to just force a bunch of bad and cheap sexual innuendos. Purvis & Wade, or whoever came up with all those should be ashamed.

Some of my favourites overall would be classic ones like "I think he got the point", "She's just dead", " That's quite a nice little nothing you're almost wearing" :-))

Indeed. Some of them were very entertaining to see, others were extremely painful to watch.

    400th post already! Nice.

Bond: "Weren't you a red head when I came in?"
    Tiffany Case: "Could be."
Bond: "I tend to notice little things like that, whether a girl is blonde or brunette."

Bond: "I help people with problems."
Sanchez: "Ah, sort of a problem solver?"
Bond: "More of a problem eliminator."

Tibbett: "We are on a mission."
Bond: "Sir Godfrey, on a mission, I am expected to sacrifice myself."
  • "Do you mind if my friend sits this one out? She's just dead."

    More CR:

M: "Christ I miss the Cold War."

Bond:"So you want me to be half monk, half hitman?"

    Bond:"You're not my type."
    Vesper:"Smart?"
    Bond:"Single."

Bond:"If you were just born, wouldn't you be naked?"

    Gunter:"I'll kill her!"
    Bond:"Allow me."

    Bond:"I think I'll call that a Vesper."
Vesper:"Why? Because of the bitter aftertaste?
Bond:"Because once you've had it it's all you want to drink."

Solange:"Why can't most men be more like you?"
    Bond:"Because then they'd be bad."

    M:"You've got a bloody cheek."
    Bond:"Sorry."

Le Chiffre:"Mr.Beech. Or is it Bond? I'm confused."
    Bond:"Well, we wouldn't want that."

Tanner:"I have to put you on hold."
    Bond:"I thought you would."

@0Brady, I think the turning point of Vesper becoming slightly interested in Bond was the second he said 'Single.' to her. It felt like she was now vying for what she couldn't have, no matter how uninterested she seemed in the casino and hotel room scenes.

"That's because you know what I can do with my little finger." in CR is great.

I also like "Keeping the British end up, Sir" in TSWLM

"Do you mind if my friend sits this one out? She's just dead."
Took us long enough to get to the ultimate Bond one liner. How many posts untill we got to this Bondian classic? Honestly.

    A few faves of mine.
Hood 1 - "The stiff ehhmmm, the deceased back there. Your brother Mr.Franks?"
    Bond - "Yes it was."
    Hood 2 - "I got a brudda."
    Bond - "Small world."

    M - "Remember OO7, you're on your own."
    Bond - "Oh, thank-you Sir. That's a great comfort."

Bond -"Why didn't you learn the violin?"

Kara - "You were fantastic. We're free!"
Bond - "Kara were inside a Russian airbase in the middle of Afghanistan."

There are of course many, many more, but those ones spring to mind.

I thought Brosnan was very good at one-liners, much better than Dalton's occasional "I-don't-want-to-say-it-but-I-have-to" approach. If you're going to have one-liners have an actor that looks like he enjoys saying them (ala, Connery, Moore, Brosnan). Agreed though that the writing of the lines was VERY bad ("I'm Mr Kil, that's a name to die for").

(NOTE: I know Brosnan wasn't that keen on the lines either but he at least looked like he enjoyed saying them).

    It's not really a one-liner but I like:
"Trick is to quit while you're still ahead...
that's one trick I've never learned". It's just summs up Bond perfectly.

    Other mentions:

"What sharp little eyes you've got
"Wait 'till you get to my teeth"

"I think he got the point"

    "She's had her kicks"

"What are you doing...looking for shells?
    "No, I'm just looking"

"What a handsome craft, such fine lines"

Brosnan may have enjoyed saying them, but I didn't enjoy hearng them. Though I guess that's to be expected when the lines are written by half witted chimps (chumps?) banging their hand aross a keyboard. Not helped by Brosnans delivery.

    Short and to the point:
Bond "He got the.. boot." - TLD

    Some other favourites:

Bond: "Let's go fishing." - LTK

Bond: "Good morning gentlemen. Acme pollution inspection company, we're cleaning up the world and though this was a suitable starting point." - DAF

Brandt: "Would you like to know what this is?"
Bond: "I'd rather not." - YOLT

That's not even half a quote.

One line I didnt like much from Dalton was the "dead end" line in LTK. It felt out of place in the film and coming from him. I doubt Dalton himself would have enjoyed saying it.

And to me in most cases it makes them even worse. Can't blame Brosnan for trying to salvage bad pun, but they felt more than forced, they were so bad that they felt un-natural coming from Bond.

Now similar to quotes, some of my favourite moments are when Bond doesn't say anything at a moment when you'd expect him to have a one liner...

    - Lazenby's look in OHMSS when Blofeld's man throws the acid which burns some transparent door/wall
    - Connery snatching a grape in TB after checking into the room of the fighter pilot

    Classic stuff.

@DarthDimi, I think he's talking about GE with Natalya. She says something like:

"Are there any other standard operating procedures I should know about?"

Bond: "Thousands. But I only pay them lip service."
