1.) AC2
2.) AC1
3.) AC3
I thought there was barely any story to it (Altair cocks up a mission and almost loses some treasure, he's sent to kill a bunch of Templars, isn't a cocky dick anymore, finds out his master was a Templar all along and just wanted the treasure to himself, kills him).
I liked Altair by the end of the game but he's not as good a character as Ezio or Connor imo and I have no idea why he was the only one in the Holy Land with a generic American accent.
Everyone seems to hate AC 3 (not entirely sure why to be honest), but at least it had variety, things to do in the world and a story.
1) AC 2
2) AC 3
3) AC Revelations
4) AC Brotherhood
5) AC 1
As I watched videos before it was released, I couldn't believe how beautiful and fluid the combat looked, and I honestly thought fighting enemies would be something that I wouldn't be able to stop enjoying, but after a while, it, too, became stale and annoying when I would press buttons and my action wouldn't register, I would turn to hit one enemy but Connor would hit an enemy in a different direction, and when it boiled down to controls, even trying to register running up this ladder, not the wall, or hopping this rail, not the window, became tiresome because I couldn't find myself being able to hone in on what exactly I wanted to do.
Granted, AC4 looks much, much more beautiful than the last game, with a lot more to see. But in the end, it just looks exactly the same as past installments, and with that, I'll more than likely pass on it. I just have too much to pay off and play this fall as it is, anyway, and once 2014 rolls around and more games are released on the XB1, I'll have zero interest to play it.
I liked Connor too. Bit naïve but he was a good person trying to do the right thing despite having a crap life (mum burns alive, forced to kill his dad and his best mate, mentor/father figure dies and even after killing the Templars helping the Americans win a hypocritical war for freedom his people are still forced to leave their village).
He went through all that shit but still came out of it as a good person. I didn't like him much at first but now I think he was one of the best characters I'd ever played as in a game.
I thought the cities were a bit dull when it came to parkour (shame too because they'd really improved the free running), but it was still cool wandering around on the streets and seeing how alive it all was.
I thought the frontier was amazing. It was a massive sprawling wilderness full of life and I had fun attacking forts, hunting animals, etc.
I never had any problem with the controls. In fact I thought they were miles better than the other games. The combat was much more fluid than before.
Then you have hunting, naval missions, good music, graphics and all the rest of it to make what was easily one of the best games in the series imo.
It had it's faults sure (too linear during the missions, story got boring and too America f**k yeah during the middle section), but I enjoyed it and they seem to have fixed all this for AC 4.
I guess in terms of the wilderness, RDR spoiled me on that.
While AC 3 had fields, forest, cliffs, waterfalls, etc, Red Dead was mostly just desert. I thought exploring was much more fun too because in AC 3 you can scale cliffs and free run through the trees, in Red Dead you just rode a horse or ran.
I thought it was also better in terms of animals. Seemed like there was much more of them and hunting was much deeper and more fun than in Red Dead imo.
There was nothing better than getting to hogtie someone, lay them on the train tracks, and then wait as the train came by and devoured them.
I remember it glitched one time, and I had a nun on the tracks, and the entire train ran over her, and as it passed, she was just laying there, still hogtied.
Haha, I never even noticed! I usually just establish a game, and when it turns into a discussion, I resort to abbreviations.
Well, what I said back then was relevant anyway, I think. Ace Combat is certainly a series that has gone downhill since their peak with AC04.
I forgot Ace Combat (Air Combat, I believe, for the first one) even existed. Anybody here still play it?

Not sure if this is new or old to anyone, but here's another 'Assassin's Creed IV' trailer:

'GTA V' interactive travelogue is updated with new content:

Yeah, that last time we saw it was... when? The 2010 Spike VGAs? The 2011 VGAs? It's been so long that I can't even remember.
I remember when Ubisoft released a CGI/graphic video a few years back that showed off what 'Patriots' would look like as a blueprint, but after that I lost all track of it. Not a great marketing plan, really.
