I always loved walking into a Burger Shot in GTA IV.

I remember once I was playing IV and I was doing a mission, killing some guy in a hotel. Anyway you get to the penthouse suite and kill him, mission over, but then police have swarmed the building.

So first I had to jump over onto the next building, and then get off the roof using one of those lifts that window cleaners use, while having a gunfight with the police. Then I managed to get a car but I couldn't get rid of the police. They chased me for ages and me shooting them was only pissing them off.

Eventually I crashed into a Burger King and I ran inside. I'd run out of armour, had hardly any health an I'd exhausted all my assault rifle ammo. So I got my pistol out and prepared to make a final stand.

Then a fat biker shot me in the face.

Yeah, it's happened to us all at one point or another ;-)

There's just too many fun stories like that that derived from GTA IV's single player and online party mode, and now with the latter containing 700 missions and all of those awesome bits of customization and side activities, I'm prepared for even more. I have my XB1 and games paid off now, so I may just keep my 360 and GTA V, just because I know I'll always come back to it.

I've got my Special Edition paid off and ready to pick up. I debated getting the strategy guide for it for help with achieving Gold on the missions, looking for secrets, permanent car spawn areas, etc., but with so many people getting this game, and me being broke right now, it would be better to just look it all up online. The last strategy guide I got was Skyrim, and I think that was mostly for the experience in the midnight release. I barely opened it.

So then what the hell is your problem? Jesus, you've missed out on the entire fucking series! How do you have any right to complain about GTA if you've not played one for 14 years?

Who says I haven't played them? (I have) I have never bought them is what I said. I am sure my brother will buy the newest game and I will be able to play it, but I wont be wasting $60 on it.

What are your guys ranking? you have probably played the PS2 and PS3 games, but I wonder if any of you have played the originals. GTA2 was such a great game, great radio stations, missions, weapons. I have it downloaded on my computer and played it about a month ago. Great game!

Oh yeah Shaken whats your deal? throwing f-bombs around like you know me. This is an internet forum dude. Just relax

I've played every GTA. You ever played the London ones? Or Advance? Even heard of them?

Yeah I have played the London version. I have at least played every game except Gay Tony. I haven't gotten deep into the games, but I have played them and know the mechanics.
  • I've also played GTA 1 & 2 on the PS1. I still rate Vice City as my favourite.

I love 'GTA IV,' but out of nostalgia, being younger, and having the best soundtrack, I think 'Vice City' is my favorite.

@WillardWhyte, 'Gay Tony' was pretty good, but the missions grew pretty stale and the new weapons and whatnot weren't that great. In terms of DLC, I liked TLAD a lot more.

I also think Rockstar got the comedy/satire spot on in Vice City.

@WillyGalore, absolutely, and with such a 'Miami Vice' and 'Scarface' feel to it, it was great that there were huge nods to both bits of entertainment, whether it was subtle such as the mansion from 'Scarface,' or blunt in that Philip Michael Thomas voiced Lance Vance. I recently started to watch the show, and it's so great hearing Lance when I close my eyes. Really cool that they got him to do a voice in the game.

GTA2 was not all that good at all. This is coming from a guy who started the series with GTA2, I just don't like it. The radio stations were crap, the missions were pretty stupid, the weapons were okay, but the game was utter sh*t.

GTA3 and up, on the other hand, with their satire of distinct time periods, are incredibly enjoyable, despite the fact that GTA4's Liberty City is damn near devoid of anything to do.

GTA1 and both Londons weren't exactly good either. And I'm one of those few people who've played both London games, '69 and '61. How GTA was successful enough to make it to GTA3, I don't understand.

You sure your not judging the games based on graphics? Alot of people do that with GTA and GTA2 for some reason. They seem to only like the games once they were 3D, which I don't understand.

Graphics are never a concern for me, for any game. Graphics do not make the game. I just never found GTA1, London '69, London '61, or GTA2 fun in anyway, and, as I said, I started with GTA2. GTA3 wasn't even announced when I first played GTA2.

Yes I will be buying it for the PS3

That's a big map. Let's hope all that empty space offers something to do.

No, it's much bigger. It's bigger than the sizes of San Andreas, GTA IV, and RDR combined. So many people complained when it was released because there are too many mountains and not enough city, but the city at the bottom is bigger than the entirety of GTA IV. Nobody just wants to understand the scope and scale of it.

'Call of Duty 'is a lot like 'Die Hard' now, in that it believes to be better, it can ONLY go bigger. What happens after this? They're fighting in space now.

I have to pass on this. Cancelled my pre-order some time ago, it's just the same thing, every year, for $60.

Yes I'm in agreement with you there. I suspect it's using the same game engine from MW and that was 2007! Frankly, these COD games getting released every 12 months I find as boring as the likes of FIFA. But it seems people will continue to buy them.

@WillyGalore, I couldn't help but laugh when IW had that press conference, and all the big shot Youtubers posted MP gameplay, because the death animations in it are STILL the same from CoD2. No realistic ragdoll, just the same flying backwards/going stiff and falling forward animations. It's an absolute joke.

They're just like sports games, there's only so much you can do every year. Change the story, add new guns/features, but it doesn't take away from the fact that the game feels the exact same year after year. The last time CoD felt wonderful and different was CoD4.

You sum up my feelings perfectly. The first MW was frankly brilliant. Everything that followed after has been dull and repetitive.

@WillyGalore, I just can't justify in the slightest getting this game for any price. I'll pick it up once it's released and out for a few months used from GameStop. That way, I can beat the campaign on Veteran (like I always do), return it in a week, and get every penny of mine back. Once people start not only realizing that it's the same, rehashed trash, BUT that they shouldn't buy it, also, will IW/Treyarch decide to change it drastically. Until then, why not do a minimum amount of work for a maximum amount of money?
