    AI would be a good topic to explore in Bond 27 or 28, after Bond 26 gives us a more normal Bond movie. As long as it doesn't involve terminator-like robots like that unused Dalton script, Bond going up against some sort of AI-related conspiracy would be a fresh idea for the series. There could even be some humor in it, like Bond losing a card game to a computer or something.

    I think writers have to be careful with something like AI. It's a hot button topic, but so was surveillance when SP was released, and look how uninspired and dull that idea worked out. Nothing about it spoke to the fears and potential dangers that such technology could create if used in the wrong hands.

    To make something like that work, you have to make the concept genuinely scary. And to do that you sometimes have to come up with something that's 'five minutes into the future', especially with Bond films. As much as I have issues with NTTD, they seemed to understand this concept with the nanobots.

    Maybe Bond, another 00, or MI6 at large is convincingly framed by AI / a villain who used it, and that sets off the plot.

    If we're going with 'dark' technology I can imagine something like Elon Musk's weird neuralink project being a concept.

    I mean, the idea of a villain implanting people with chips in their brain in a sort of OHMSS type situation is pretty scary. Could mix it with an adaptation of the brainwashing concept seen in Fleming's TMWTGG (or a sort of Manchurian candidate/Ipcress File concept).

    One of the reasons I like FRWL. The lektor was a ruse to film Bond in a compromising situation and embarrass the British. It wasn't world crisis stuff, but personal. Deep fake technology could be employed in a similar scheme. For example, Bond accused of assassinating an important political figure.

    How about a pts, where Bond is implicated in an assassination or something similar by the villain using AI?
    An mostly unseen Bond is seemingly killed by the British or US and we have a funeral for Bond at the beginning of the movie, like in YOLT.
    So far the villains and the audience don’t know too much about our new Bond / the man on the assignment.
    Would be a little nod to the death of Craig’s Bond, a bit like the , “this never happened to the other fella.” From OHMSS..
    I like the AI idea though.

    Hey, I like that - and MGW said that they always look at what the world's currently afraid of and project it slightly into the future. I think you could well be onto something there, Red_Snow. Good call, mate.

    If you're using AI to streamline research, that's fair as doing research sucks a lot. But as this is a forum of opinions, I feel as though it's appropriate to share mine; if a single line of AI written material ends up in a finished product, that's a really shitty thing to do.

    If you think for five seconds about where AI generated content comes from, written or visual art or otherwise, it's plaigarism at best.

    There's really no lie here, but who said protagonists have to be fine upstanding citizens? Anyways, this seems to indicate that he'll never direct a Bond film which I think is good news.

    When it comes to technical stuff in novels that the author has little knowledge of, all they'll be doing is paraphrasing what they've read elsewhere anyway. They may give a credit, but I would imagine that happens a lot less than when it does.
