@peter what you said about Bob Iger was so delicious haha can't stop laughing 😂🤣
Let's make sure we pour our pocket books to make sure this franchise isn't dormant all Disney needs to do is buy the federal government and make the us flag's stars into a Mickey mouse logo and they still would want more.
@peter absolutely all they want is a monopoly I'm surprised the government hasn't stepped in they control the majority of the movie industry it seems.
I couldn't agree more.
The Hollywood Reporter ran an article today about some major shake-ups at MGM, and the fact that they (as a company) might be bought out by Comcast or Apple.
They also hired Amy Pascal, well-known to us because of the Sony leaks. Amongst the reasons for getting her on board, one is basically "she has a very good relationship with BB"

I'm liking the unknown British actor bit, but not the original screenplay.
My wish is a Bond film in 2022 with a screenplay incorporating huge chunks of properly adapted scenes and storylines from both MR and DAF, exhausting both novels absolutely to death.
Bond 27 is then released 2 years later, incorporating TSWLM and YOLT, again exhausting both novels absolutely to death. The film ends with an amnesia ridden Bond setting sail off a Japanese island, not knowing who he is.
Bond 28 then follows on where the last one left off, with a properly adapted version of TMWTGG, including the brainwashed confrontation opening.
After that, I don't care what EON do. My wishes would have come true, seeing these criminally unused novels finally making it to the big screen - and done properly (not half-arsed DAD type attempts written by P&W).
I’d be on board with that, but please don’t overdo the angst. We need some lightness and style. An equilibrium of the two would do nicely.
Bond 26 would be a straightforward mission - no BS backstory or personal angst, cleverly using both DAF and MR. This would bring us another Fleming Bond film in the style of a classic 60's film.
Bond 27 would follow TSWLM (how Bond meets Viv at a motel) and then onto YOLT, with the personal revenge angle done in a more subtle way, but we could lose the opening part with a depressed Bond sitting in Regents Park, staring at the flowers and bees. We don't need personal stuff like that anymore.
Bond 28 opens with the brainwashed sequence, then after that we are onto a straight forward mission - Bond off to Jamaica to track down Scaramanga (insert another villain name), while going undercover as Mark Hazard.
Job done! This ain't rocket science, EON...
Let's just hope someone at EON is reading this thread.... ;)
In what way and idiot? I seem to remember her from some of the Sony leaks headlines, but know nothing about her beyond that.
Perfect, as far as i'm concerned you've nailed it.
Oh, this is just an example, but in one of those leaked emails she said something along the lines of, "MOVIE IDEA: TOBEY MAGUIRE SPIDERMAN VS ANDREW GARFIELD SPIDERMAN. GUARANTEED 4 BILLION DOLLARS AT THE BOX OFFICE."
Well, they could have a dance off.
Lots of her leaked emails were ridiculous. Or so I've heard.
Ouch! That does indeed sound like the words of an idiot…
But she must've done well in her job to get where she's at, I guess.
That a good way of putting it =))
+1.
The interesting part to me is, I wonder what Eon will do over the continuity. Will they start again? Or try to carry on? Will they give the new guy his own backstory and timeline or will they not address any of that at all and just go for a Living Daylights/Goldeneye, of this good looking fella is Bond here he is, let's get on with the story.
Honestly I'm not excited about the future of Bond because what I love about Daniel's run is he just gets Bond and I hope the next guy is the same but we'll see
The timing is perfect:
1. Both Tenet and NTTD are coming out this year, only a few months between their release dates, so Nolan will be available to do a Bond film in the next few years.
2. Craig is moving on, hence a new actor and a clean slate, and a chance for Nolan to come up with a new vision for the character which is the only way he would consider doing Bond.
I doubt there will ever be a better set of circumstances for pulling Nolan in, and I doubt EON will miss this opportunity.
I am not a huge fan of the idea though, but I'm almost certain it will happen.
Didn't MGW/BB reportedly meet with him at some point? Maybe pre-Spectre?
Possibly, I'm sure someone here can confirm. They did meet up with Morten Tyldum in that period, who was asked to read the script for SP.
It's best to be prepared. :)
I would be ok with expanding storylines, as long as they are planned better. Not just one at a time, at the last minute.
