    Nolan is a huge Bond fan…who is terrible at directing action sequences…and romances.

    Other than those two inconsequential blind spots, Nolan’s perfect!

    Its a brand new world now folks. My gut feeling is it may be ATJ now? Especially with spin offs which will inevitably happen with Amazon. I am guessing a film every 3 years once the first one is out? With spin offs in between.

    I think Campbell would come back if it is Cavill. He did push for Cavill for CR.

    If C. Nolan did come in as a writer/producer, he would more of an effort to have creative control than he did on Man of Steel. Apparently, he just helped with story pitches and hiring Zack Snyder as director. I think he would be more hands on with Bond.

    The main thing Campbell liked about Cavill over Craig back then was that Cavill was an unknown.

    Didn't the Campbell for Cavill thing get debunked in a recent interview? I recall him saying that Craig was obviously the better choice.

    You forgot to mention the Broccoli/Craig produced Othello movie project which just reinforces the idea that Barbara is still more interested in working with Daniel than investing her time with Bond.     Yeah that part irked me when I read it. She wants to work with Daniel on any projects, fine and well. But if she is doing that in lieu of, then that half of creative control needs to go to someone else.

    If the rumours are true that DV is the man they want to direct, something I stated back here in mid-Feb, and they didn't have a script yet ready for him, hence, why, six weeks after saying he wanted to take a break from "the sand", he went right back to the sand, and is prepping D3 for a June 2025 shoot, then this is a film producer doing another project before Bond 26 attaches the director they want.

    God forbid a film producer should produce a variety of films. That's like saying an author should only write about one character, or a portrait painter should only compose paintings with one person as the muse.

    I'm not saying that she shouldn't produce anything besides Bond. However my opinion isn't wavering. I think she's too attached to Craig Bond since it's whats defined her Bond legacy which is 99% good.

    However, the future may be much more cloudy if all goes will with Othello and still comes out afterward with we haven't done anything and no clue what to do

    Well, the positive note is we are not likely to hear any solid Bond news until Othello finishes principal. We are looking at about a year out. So now we can all take a nice exhale, enjoy the year, laugh at the Daily Mail, or whomever, and go on wondering about the future.

    Silly me, Though I did see Barbara stepping away, I did not see the creative reigns being completely turned over to Amazon.

    He is getting old, 78, but how about Steven Spielberg? I'm certain Amazon could afford his fee. Would be a surprise choice.

    Spielberg is a big Bond fan.

    I'm surprised she didn't consider delegating Bond to a close family friend for a few films like Chris Courbould, Anthony Waye, Meg Simmonds etc.

    Spielberg is just not the same filmmaker he was 40 years ago. He couldn’t even put the energy to do a fifth Indy film with Ford.

    I think we have already seen how things will be different as Bezo's himself asked "Who do think the new Bond should be". Goofy as that was and unproductive in the end result, when was the last time Eon did something like that?

    The closest scenario I remember was Entertainment Tonight, and one other show, (Hard Copy, maybe) having 1-900 polls on who should play Bond after Dalton. Pierce pretty won by a landslide as the other actors were Liam Neeson, Mel Gibson and Hugh Grant.

So I think you have to have somebody in their thirties, 35, 36, if they're going to see five films. I mean, look at Roger Moore, I think he was 56 or something by the time he finished his run. I didn't know how old Pierce was, but they're going to go on until their fifties, basically. So they always want to get somebody who will be able to do that many movies, and in order to do so, they have to get someone, I think, in their mid-thirties too.
    He didn’t seem to make any exceptions, so it sounds like he might consider Cavill “too old” now to become Bond.

    Of course Cavill is too old at this point. But no one has speculated yet on what 007 theme park ride is going to get licensed by Amazon.

    And he’d be right. If Cavill were to start making Bond films in 2027 he would already be 44, and depending on the speed Amazon cranks these films out he’d already be 50 by his third or fourth film.

    "West Side Story" is among the most energetic big budget Hollywood movies in recent memory. He didn't do Indy5 because he had other projects he wanted to do and didn't want to do it without Lucas being around.
