    The Brosnan PTS' are all like mini-movies (like LTK before it as well).

    That's why they are so great, all of them. And that's why SP's PTS is great.

    3. Bond driving on the roads of Azerbaijan watching the helicopters cutting the trees

    Huh?!! That's one of the scenes I use to highlight why TWINE is so dreary!

    I would agree with you. Azerbaijan was in general a dreary location.

    True but I don't think that dreary is always bad. I mean how realistic and how interesting is an international super spy who only operates in exotic holiday locations?

    Bond films should also always catch the atmospere of a certain time. Golden Eye and TWINE really manage to give us an insight into the post cold war era by showing us locations such as Russia and Azerbaijan in the 1990s. I personaly always regret that Bond didn't operate more often behind the iron curtain during the cold war era.
    Exactly. Hell in TWINE when Tanner lists all the places Renard has operated from Bond goes on to say "all the romantic vacation spots" I think this was a way of producers saying Bonds not just about exotic locations.

    I found it a very dreary film and that Azerbaijan drive is also something I recall being quite noticeably bleak when I watched it. Additionally, they made the Bosphorous look uninteresting here too, at least in comparison to FRWL.

    If that's what they were going for, good for them, but I'd rather see a little sparkle in my Bond films, thank you very much.

    PS: Isn't this the first film that those two screenwriting geniuses Purvis & Wade were involved in? Oh dear, that pretty much says it all I think.

    Sorry, can't find 3 favorites scenes in TWINE.
    No scene stands out, no scene is worth remembering.
    I can find 3 with DAD and TMWTGG, and none with TWINE.

    1. The PTS
    2. Caviar Factory shoot-out
    3. Zukovsky's final scene.

    A question, has the PTS of every Bond film been in the top 3 consecutively since the start of this thread?

    Just taking a guess, I'd be very surprised if that were the case for the early 70's Hamilton trio (DAF, LALD & TMWTGG).

    Go to the first post and check. I have posted all the totals there. :)

    Yes it is indeed a dreary film during the middle and later section. Of course we did get Christmas in Turkey... actually never mind about that, that isn't exactly a positive.

    And because P+W considered TWINE to be such a masterpiece, they recycled (remade) it and "created" Skyfall, the other dreary depressing snot. At least they got lucky with it (thanks to the 50th Anniversary) and it made a billion at the BO.
    At least SF got a decent director and a genius for a cinematographer.

    @BondJasonBond006. Funny you got polar opposite opinions on SF and SP. For me the flaws are similar so they are together in my rankings

    LTK is one of my favourite Bonds..

    1: Compliments of Sharky !
    2: You earned it, you keep it
    3: Don't you want to know why ?

    All the above. Class.

    @suavejmf, Are those your top 3 aswell, in that order?

    Yep. I love LTK. Best Bond film of the 80's by far.

    1. The Q scene
    2. The boat chase
    3. The caviar factory
  • This is a tough one...not a lot to choose from. One of the dullest Bond films.

    1 Bank scene in Bilbao
    2 King M and Bond in M's Office
    3 Boat Chase

    in otherwords - the whole PTS

    after that its all pretty forgettable.

    The World is Not Enough, 30 voters

    1 = Bilbao bank scene = 46 Points
    2 = Thames boat chase = 41 Points
    3 = Elektra's demise = 32 Points

    The scores did get a bit messed up as a vote for the PTS, gave points to all of these scenes: Bilbao bank, king and the money, and Thames boat chase. As the PTS alone some people considered far too long.
