laser
finalé at fort knox
all classic...
This scene was highly controversial in its day owing to the unprecedented amount of nudity. Granted, actress Shirley Eaton was mostly covered in gold paint, but this scene made all the front pages and top shelves of the world. The scene is masterfully (sic) scored by John Barry’s music featuring dark portentous strings followed by the climactic and sinister clock chimes as Bond sees the revenge of Auric Goldfinger. Let’s also not forget Sean Connery’s portrayal of stunned shock followed by barely contained revulsion as he calls Leiter to give him the news. Powerful stuff.
No, Mister Bond…
I doubt if there’s a forum member that hasn’t listed this scene… one that is consistently voted a viewer favourite ever since 1965. It’s the scene that will keep countless men crossing their legs for years to come. We all know it, so enough said.
Now pay attention, 007…
The introduction of the Aston Martin brand to the Bond canon might easily be accompanied by Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra, such is the huge legacy that Aston Martin gave to the franchise, despite dubious and thankfully brief flirtations with Lotus and BMW. Following Fleming’s lead, Bond is given the latest model of the day, the DB5 (rather than the outdated DB3 of the novel) and the rest, as they say, is history. Even back in 1965, Aston Martin was synonymous with class and adventuring sophistication and the DB5 is considered to be artistically up there with the Jaguar E-Type. This scene was also seminal as it was our first glimpse into Q’s workshop.
1 I most be dreaming
2 lasser scene
3 the scene where bond discovers Gill death painted in gold
1. Goldfinger's Laser
2. Oddjob Kills Tully
3. PTS Fight
"No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!" Hard to top this in the pantheon on Bond villain lines. Bond meets the Laser and uses his wits to get out of it. How many of us would have survived that? Oddjob taking his hat off to Tully established him as the menace and not just a gimmick. Thought at one point that T.M.'s head was severed. Posivitively shocking PTS sequence. Connery's Bond isn't just a brute and a womanizer…he's got quick wits. Sad to see the Kerim Bey's wife had to stoop to such low levels. Long way from Istanbul.
2. Golfing with Goldfinger.
3. PTS Sequence.
Honorable mentions to the Aston Martin car chase and the finale at Fort Knox.
2. The junk yard disposal;
3. The restroom spying on Pussy's plane.
2. Golden girl
3. "Shocking, Positively Shocking"
Honorable mentions: The DB5 car chase at night, the fight with Oddjob, Oddjob cutting a statue's head off with his hat, meeting Pussy Galore and the attempted spying on Bond on the plane. So many options, which is what makes this a fantastic movie.
2. Bond and Goldfingers chat on the farm where Goldfingers tells Bond his plan.
3. Bond vs Odd Job in Fort Knox
2. Golf scene
3. Golden Girl
"But it's your honour sir!" - golf scene.
"Not Dink, Masterson, Jill Masterson…and she's covered in gold paint" - discovering Jill dead.
2. Odd Job when he takes off the statute's head
3. Odd Job blowing a fuse.
2. The Aston Martin car chase. Especially that pissed off look Connery has when another car appears in pursuit.
3. The Fort Know battle with Odd Job. It's only whilst watching the film again the other week that it struck me just how great, and well shot, that fight is.
Quite possibly the best scene in the entire franchise. Very few scenes have ever felt this tense, and never delivered quite as cool or stylishly as Connery's bluff, "Can you afford to take that chance?"
2. The Golf Scene
Both the game and the settlement, including Oddjob's statue decapitation. Villain interactions are always among the most memorable for me, and this one provides double the content with both Goldfinger and Oddjob.
3. The Airplane Scene
The introduction of Pussy Galore, the martini, and the wardrobe change. This is right up there with Honey's introduction and while I normally find the scenes where Bond checks for spying devices to be cheesy, this one was done in such a charming way.
2. tee-off time with Golfinger
3. snooping around Auric Enterprises and the following chase

1. Raid on Fort Knox
2. Golden girl
3. No, I expect you to die
Again, difficult to choose just three. Exquisite film.
This one is really hard for me, as nothing really springs to mind. Even though i love Thunderball. Well i will try at least
