"Time to get out" and then the titles kick in.
Quantum at the opera
2 Siena chase
3 Tosca
I will try not go with the obvious 3, the car chase, Tosca sequence, scenes with Mathis.
1) Scaffolding fight. Really well done with genuine suspense (who will get to their gun first?)
2) Plane scene where Greene first meets Greg Beam, great character, almost as slimy as Greene!
3) Final scene with Yusef. You can see Bond struggling not to kill him!
There are many great little moments in the film, Bond whipping the motorbike from under the villain, Bond skipping along the balcony after overcoming the agents in the lift, Bond instructing Camille how to kill someone, Fleming would have loved it!
2. Bond and Camille walking through the desert and finding a bus back to town
3. Bond encounters Slate and steals his jacket
It is a Bond film that is better appreciated now than eight years ago, for sure. Poor Marc Forster: he had a vision, got screwed by the writers' strike, and never received much accolade for this effort.
@00Agent
I agree 100% on that desert scene
2.) PTS.
3.) Tosca.
Notable Favorites: Bar scene with Bond and Mathis, Perla de las Dunas finale, Bond and Mathis at his villa, Bond and M scene before White's interrogation.
Slate fight
Confronting Yusef (upon rewatching this scene again sometime back, this was the moment that made me realise how great Craig is as Bond).
2. Interrogation of Mr White
3. Death of Mathis
Someone mentioned it yesterday elsewhere, but I think it would've been great if we found out that he died from the oil and nothing else.
Yes, he was shot, but they found oil in his stomach. Why were they doing an autopsy on him exactly? The death cause seemed pretty obvious.
Also, drinking oil won t kill you, so that is good to know as I am from Norway. Cheers!
You mean the bullets in themselves didn t kill him? If you are in good shape you can survive that? reminds me of Woody Allen in Casino Royale.
Rest of the film? I dunno...
The can of oil was no doubt revenge for oil Fields.
1-Camille vs Medrano fight
2-Felix and Bond bar talk
3-Mathis explaining Vesper's sacrifice to Bond
2. Death Of Mathis
3. Yusef face off
2. Yusef face off
3. The fight on the scaffolding
2. Mathis death scene. Shocking, because I really liked Mathis and his death was well done.
3. The Opera Meeting. A clever set up for a modern villain meeting. I feel like it would have been intetesting to have met Guy Haines earlier in the film or even CR to add more of a surprise in the film. But then again, there were plenty of missed oputunities to expand on.
2. Slate fight
3. Tosca Shootout
Honorable mentions: Plane scene, Bond leaves Greene to die.
I can't believe this and SP feature the same Bond. Then again, you could say that about a bunch of movies.
2. Bond and Mathis in Talamone
3. PTS
2. Bond fights Slate
3. Interrogation with Mr White
2.Opera House
3.Mathis' Villa
2. Opera scene, love these types of set pieces in a Bond Film.
3. Car chase, full on action scene love the raw energy in this brilliant sequence.
QoS has a fantastic score, the music in all the scenes is Arnold at his best.
2. Bond vs Slate
3. Yusef confrontation.
2. Confrontation with Yusef
3. Mathis' demise
2. Death of Mathis
3. Greene abandoned in the desert
James Bond: [at a dirty, small motel] What are we doing?
Strawberry Fields: We're teachers on sabbatical. This fits our cover.
James Bond: No it doesn't. I'd rather stay at a morgue. Come on.
[they go to a nicer hotel]
James Bond: [to the hotel receptionist] Hello. We're teachers on sabbatical and we've just won the lottery.
2:
James Bond: [chucks a can of motor oil at Greene's feet] I bet you make it 20 miles before you consider drinking that.
[Bond gets in the car and drives away, leaving Greene stranded in the middle of the desert]
James Bond: Goodbye, Mr. Greene.
3:
The end sequence with Yusef, Corinne and M.
Spot on! Couldn't have put it better myself.
There are so many great scenes in QoS it's really hard to pick just three, and all those great scenes in such a short run time!
A lean mean Bond film that has a nasty brutal Bond being the blunt instrument he's supposed to be!
If I have to pick 3...
PTS car chase
Tosca
M confronting Bond at the hotel
