James Bond & Queen Elizabeth II

Elizabeth II became the queen of the United Kingdom one year before the release of the first James Bond novel. Bond has always served her. Once the UK will have a new monarch, how do you think the change will influence the Bond series?

Probably not much, to be honest. It's not like Bond has a lot of interaction with Lizzie at the moment. We might get passing references to "for King and Country" once Chuck becomes king, but I don't think there will be a lot of difference.

A movie called 'For His Family Jewels Only' could be made one day.

Other than that I don't see much of a change happening in the franchise.

Not with the way "family jewels" has entered the realm of immature penis jokes. The same has happened concerning Bond girls. You wouldn't see a Pussy Galore this day in age.

It gives the series a great sense of now which is wonderful so the most should be used of this original link while we have it. It really keeps the novels fresh.

Hay, the Queen did plan to appear in an episode of Doctor Who once in the '80's so why not Bond?... Now that would be truely unbelievable.

As for how things may change, not a lot except Bond is continuing strong into another new age.

^ Silver Nemesis. Instead, they did have a rather conincing Lizzie look-a-like.

Not as ridiculous as it sounds. Once she pops off I could see Charlie being up for it - hes a big Bond fan. Although in what capacity could he conceiveably appear other than a gag at then end a la Mrs Thatcher? An assassination attempt perhaps?

I reckon Wills and Harry would be all for getting more hands on in terms of action - although can they act?

Actually the more I think about it the worse an idea it sounds.

Maybe the whole "Bond to be knighted" plot could be elaberated on from The Man With The Golden Gun?
