That's why I love this thread (and overall this forum) Everyone has different opinion which the majority may not agree with.
For example I really really like DAF and AVTAK, and TWINE is sometimes my #1 movie, and yet I don't like TB, FRWL and TSWLM.
Well...SPECTRE says he's their agent so..someone from SPECTRE helped him plan everything while he was in jail. Basically they had a plan prepared in case Silva ended up in jail and as soon as he went to jail Spectre started their plan "Ok he's in jail, everyone in position for when he'll escape sooner or later!" and...voila :D :D
If you don't like the SPectre theory then....well let's say he had his own people that made the plan and...well same as above :)
And as for the computer question..I am far from computer expert so I'll leave that to someone else :D
I don't think he did. He had men working for him obviously that got shot in the gun fight but I think that was all chance. He just wanted a way to get near M ...he was suicidal anyway so I'm sure no escape plan.
Even if I accept the Spectre Retcon bullshit, it still doesn't make sense. Silva knew exactly where he was going when he escaped.
How did he time his capture and escape precisely with M's hearing?
Well just like when he blew up the office in the beginning, he knew her schedule and when and where she'd be. One can assume that he knew she'd be there.
I agree
Skyfall__: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 25
SPECTRE: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 41
If I calculated correctly it is 26 to 43 now.
Anyway, I'm surprised. Reading the threads I got the impression it would be the other way around.
Really? Wow that's not what the general sentiment is on the forum.
Perhaps those who dislike it are just more vocal.
True. Let's see what the rankings say...70 MI6C ranks since Spectre
6th SF 1143
9th SP 1067
(24 points for a 1st ranking)
Reasonably close.
Well, I have only been back 3 days, so my impression of which movie is more liked is not representative of course. Maybe Birdleson influenced my perception :))
That ranking result wonderfully reflects the box office result as well.
Spectre came close to Skyfall, but no cigar. :))
@BondJasonBond006
Sorry I misread your post. You meant you thought Skyfall would be more liked which is true
This is a Bond forum after all, and SP is the latest and " "..... (I'm not saying it).
More vocal indeed. A few members have posted thousands of posts trashing the film so relentlessly that most of those who liked the film, just stopped reading and posting on the SP threads because they were so one sided It was a waste of time. Now some of the same SP haters are going after Craig and want him dumped. Beware of what you wish for.
2. SP - after a breathtaking opening sequence that promised so much, it descended into a muddled story with too many illogicalities - the result of too many screenwriters? - & failed to live up to its pre-release hype. A hugely disappointing follow-up to SF.
Can't disagree with that. Spectre is the Bond that I wanted from Craig when he was cast.
I think that's quite true. Offering up positives seemed a fruitless exercise to me.
@ThighsOfXenia, I'm quite familiar with the usual suspects in question, and you don't pop up in my mind as one of them.
Oh oh. This thread has been hijacked by the "SF is the best thing since sliced bread, and anyone who says otherwise must be an idiot"-crowd, it seems!
Have you heard the expression "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"?
I have, and I consider it errant nonsense.
