Haha, fair enough!! ;)
The only other one I had hoped for was possibly Best Cinematography, but even still, it wouldn't have a chance of winning.
As I'm quite the Awards aficionade in here......I think it's a done deal for Lady GaGa :-). But let's see......

Sam Smith with "Writing's On The Wall" ("SPECTRE"):
Adèle with "Skyfall" ("SKYFALL"):
What do you think? If this was Eurovision, which would receive your 'douze points' :-P?
I found Adele's performance under par to be honest. Yes, she nailed it a bit more, but her performance lacked soul and depth.
If you want to see stunning Oscar performances watch those: simply breathtaking!

THE IRVING G. THALBERG AWARD (Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences)
THALBERG AWARD WIN (one):
--> Awarded in 1982 to: producer Albert R. Broccoli
Regarding the blockbusters of 2015, only two films won the prestigious Academy Awards:
--> 6 Academy Award: "MAD MAX: FURY ROAD" (The winner of the tech. categories)
--> 1 Academy Award: "SPECTRE": (Anotherrr Bond film!)
Actually, "SPECTRE" was the only +$850 Million Box Office hit that won such an Oscar. If you would include some more financial successful cult films, then you could also include these two films:
--> 1 Academy Award: "EX MACHINA" (For visual effects. Very deserved win!)
--> 1 Academy Award: "THE HATEFUL EIGHT" (Finally a win for Ennio!)
But on the whole........enjoy these precious moments. Back in the 1960's there were two back-to-back Oscar wins for the Bond franchise; "Goldfinger" and "Thunderball". Fifty years later "Skyfall" and "SPECTRE" do the same trick. So you might have to wait for another 50 years before a future Bond films wins an Oscar again :-O!
I'm not knocking it. In fact, I'm one of the select few who weren't making a fuss about it, popping Sam's balloon or wondering why WOTW won. I like him and his music, so it's all good for me.
have with it. I'm just over the moon to see Bond getting a bit of respect and am so
happy to see Sam get his "revenge" on all his critics. No better revenge than success ! :D
I'm still so incredibly happy for all the people behind "SPECTRE" :-)
Wait, do you mean the film or the organization itself? I don't want to say the wrong thing here and end up with a bullet in my back. We all know what happened with Greene.
"And the winner of Best Thriller is a kite dancing in a hurricane. Sorry, wait, no, it's SPECTRE. #JamesonEmpireAwards"
"Best British Film (sponsored by @THR) next. A hotly-contested category...but SPECTRE wins its second gong of the night! #JamesonEmpireAwards"
Pretty cool and a tad unexpected.
Thanks for posting!
Kind of Oscars for the Stunt people...
