Film titles that sound like Bond movies/books

edited September 2011 in General Movies & TV Posts: 1,778
For fun lets point out non Bond films having titles that would suit the series or has even been influenced by it. I'll start.

-Never Die Alone (2004)
-Kiss Kiss Bang Bang (2004)
-Death Wish (1974)
-Things to do in Denver when you're dead (1995) -Obviously doesn't work but you can insert a more exotic place in there
-52 Pick-Up (1986)

I was just joking with that one, the last three of my post were serious attempts. Enjoy.

You know who had some great titles? Alistair MacLean! I read all his books as a kid, they were kind of pulpy but some of his titles would make James proud:

    Night Without End
    Fear is the Key
    The Golden Rendezvous
    When Eight Bells Toll
    Where Eagles Dare
    Puppet on a Chain
    The Way to Dusty Death
    Seawitch

You know who had good books with crappy titles? John le Carre! A great novelist who wrote classic espionage novels, but the titles needed work:

    A Murder of Quality
The Spy Who Came in from the Cold
    The Naïve and Sentimental Lover
    Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy
    Smiley's People
    The Little Drummer Girl
    The Tailor of Panama
    The Constant Gardener

Can you imagine any of these as a Bond title? No way!

    Agreed!
Can you imagine any of these as a Bond title? No way!
The Tailor of Panama sounds the best of this bunch. However, for it to work as a Bond title, 'Tailor' would be swapped for something more mysterious or threatening.
    The Peacemaker (1997)
Peacekeeper (1997) I wrote a Bond story back in the 90s called 'Peacekeeper'. Looking back, it was utter nonsense. I'm sure Mr. Fleming could've written a much better story when he was 14!
Hard to Kill (1990) - Suits Bond to a T!
Never Say Never Again (1983) :)) just kidding- I love this film!

Two more titles I used for incomplete Bond stories in the 90s:

    Never Say Die (1939; 1988; 1994)
Once and For All (2009) My Bond story was to have the villain say "Kill 007, once and for all!" >:)

Haha, think if it was Connery's era and he had to help his tailor in Savile Row out of a little mix up involving lead and explosives! =))

This video game not only parody Bond and 1960's spy genre, but the title sound too close to John Gardner's Nobody lives Forever:

    No_one_lives_forever_video_game_PC_cover_scan.jpg

    No_One_Lives_Forever_2_cover.png
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo > Octopussy

Sound close to the Man with the Golden Gun, and The Man with the Red Tattoo

The Silence of the Lamb (it sounded like a Bond title then a Hannibal Lecter story)

    This film, To die for:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/To_die_for

The title sound like a Bond film and could include Nicole Kidman as a Bond girl.

    True Grit (1969)

    The Shootist (1976)

    Espionage/Spy Thrillers:

    North By Northwest (1959)

The Spy Who Came in From the Cold (1965)

    Bullet to Beijing (1995)

    Midnight in Saint Petersburg (1996)

    The Good Shepherd (2006)

    Gone Baby Gone (2007)

    Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011)

    A Most Wanted Man (2014)
