Which Films are the Most Indicative of Each Actor?

Like, if you wanted to someone who had never seen any of them one film each from all 6 Bond actors, which one for each would you choose and why? Which ones sum up the actor's individual eras the best?

Connery is a tough one for me but I think I would go with FRWL, though really any of the first four would do fine.

Lazenby of course must be OHMSS.

Moore I would go TSWLM. It's a bit OTT but also has some really nice moments of the more serious side of him. It is him hitting his stride but still has a nice balance to both major facets of his Bond (serious and campy both).

Dalton would be LTK. This is the literary, hard charging, ruthlessness of the character he wanted to play.

Brosnan would be TND. It's the most cliched, formulaic Bond film ever so fits him well. (;

Craig is a tough one but I think I would go CR. It's his best film, the reboot film, and he's so damn good in it it's hard not to choose this film.

    Lazenby: Guess what.
    Moore: TSWLM. BUT, to be less repetitive, I love him on Octopussy.
    Dalton: LTK
    Brosnan: TND
    Craig: SF

    The trick is to find the Bond film that none of the other actors could have played as specifically as that particular Bond did. So with that in mind-

    Connery TB
    Laz er...
    Rog TMWTGG
    Dalton LTK
    Broz TND (Yes this one has everything on the Broz checklist, recycled plot from past Bond films, Bond slaughtering hordes of enemies with machine gun, ham-fisted psychology, Bond's Feelings)
    Craig SF - Although CR is the gold standard and his best performance, I'm leaning towards SF being more representative of his era as a whole

    I think you've nailed it @The_Reaper. The only one I may disagree with is Moore. It's between OP & TSWLM for me in his case (one more humorous side and the other a more serious side).

    And for me, I meant this more in line with the actual films, not the actors themselves necessarily. But it's interesting to see other perspectives on blurring the line between film and actor.

    Sean Connery : Dr No this film is the Most Connnery. The elegance, style, the wY he talked and flirts with the woman is where you know its a Bond movie made for him.
    From Russia with Love is something Craig or Dalton could have made, sure Sean was great in it but Dr No its something only Sean Connery could pull off.

    George Lazenby: On her Majesty's secret Service.

    Roger Moore he is thoughest one to pick a film since his all tenure is so him, Roger's films as Bond fit to no one but him. If i have to pick just one then id go for The spy who loved me since its the most succesful.

    Timothy Dalton : Licence to kill its the film which was made for him and no one else in mind but Dalton here is where it shows his very particular more angry and intense style.

    Pierce Brosnan : The World is not enough

    And here is why taking a look to each one of his 4 films

    Tomorrow never dies was the first fully tailored for him but many critizce it for looking more like a hollywood action flick than a Bond movie.

    Goldeneye even though he gave a great performance in it, many say it was first made for Timothy Dalton but changed for Brosnan just like The living daylights was written for Roger first but changed a little to fit Dalton.


    Die another Day : i loved that film and felt very Pierce style till Spectre came out and i think has a similar feel to this one ( DAD) which makes me think that we could have switched Pierce doing Spectre and Craig doing Die another day.
    Another thing is that its not an original Bond movie, its more of a huge homage to the franchise than your regular Bond film made for a Bond actor

    Now finally my pick : the World is not enough is the most Bondian film made for Pierce Brosnan and with a really good plot this also has all the Bond check list elements suited for him and everything here was written for Pierce to shine and he definitley did.

    And while i write makes me think more that no other Bond could have pulled off The world is not enough like Pierce did.

    Daniel Craig : Skyfall

    It's his best performance that you can't imagine other actor but him and the film does feel very Bondian.

    Casino Royale. because its a great story and its the first book written by Ian Flemingmakes me think Pierce, Connery or Dalton could have pulled it of perfectly in their respective debuts and it doesn't give me the vibe of a Bond movie just tailored for Craig.

    Quantum of Solace feels like a Craig Action film more than a Bond Craig film.

    Spectre like Die Another die sure i loved it and Craig did a great job in it but its not an Bond Movie its a homage to the Bond movies.

    Connery - GF - that tipping point from Fleming to Film Star where the stars aligned.
    Lazenby - It is what it is - great movie, shame the star not more refined. Imagine if Connery had stayed on for this.
    Moore - OP, he is cracking on a bit by now but love the balance of humour and grit.
    Dalton - TLD, refreshing change and Barry's score really helps alot.
    Brosnan - TND, he was a bit cheesy in GE, too "shallow deep" in TWINE and gave up during DAD (for which he can be forgiven).
    Craig - CR, tough choice between this and SF but this was such a breath of fresh air.

    I think I just agree with everything you have said.

    It's a shame Moore wasn't more like his portrayals in LALD, TMWTGG & FYEO throughout his tenure. Harder edged, more 007, less 'Moore'.
