Ok guys to make something a little different
We all know february is the month of love nd V Day with all its cheesiness is around the corner so to make this Bond forum go in trend.

Which would you say are the Bond films more appropriate to this day ???

Mine would be

Casino Royale
On her Majesty's secret service
The living daylights
Spectre
The world is not enough ( Bond felt for elektra even though she turned out to be a Villain)
Tomorrow never dies ( since Bond was briefley in love with Paris)
Goldeneye

    I'd go with .....

    Casino Royale
    On her Majesty's secret service
    The living daylights
    Spectre

After that session, they'll do anything to get away, even sleep with you ! :D

Although I do think these are the most Romantic of the Bond films, especially
    CR.

Why From Russia With Love of course. The title says it all.

Romantic score and title song, ends on a positive note (unlike CR/OHMSS which have relative downer endings to kill the mood) & has romance written all over it, including the Orient Express.

It even ends in Venice, which is as suggestive as one can get. FRWL will certainly do the trick in my view.

Its a good one and yes the ending is the most romantic of them all with Bond Tatiana in Venice in a date.

Thanks. Goldeneye is another good one. Just an all round happy film, and although Guantanamo (mentioned by Wade at the end) doesn't quite have the same appeal as Venice (and even less so these days thanks to unhelpful events), it still ends on an old school high note - if you shut it off just before Eric Serra spoils the mood with his pathetic attempt at crooning.
  • The one with the funny Valentine, of course ;)

I'd say The Living Daylights. That's got a very lovey-dovey feel to it in parts and it has a nice ending - unlike OHMSS or CR. FRWL might be good but the sleazy sex-film part of the story might put some of your other halves off.

What about The Spy Who Loved Me or Moonraker (especially with Jaws, Dolly and Dr Goodhead?)

Yes Guantanamo doesn't seem a very romantic destination but the cuba( real life puerto Rico) scenes are perfect date scenarios.

First the kiss at the beach and latter close to the chimeney and the fire.
Those scenes before they went to destroy the Goldeneye were very romantic

For me only FRWL, OHMSS, TPWLM (to some degree), and CR attempted and succeeded in selling a romantic love relationship.

To me Bond just isn't for romance. I certainly don't want my partner to lust after Craig then me pop up with "hey, baby ;;)

Bond films are "date movies" but I would recommend these three for Valentines Day

    TSWLM
  • AVTAK. If the sight of 83 year old Roger Moore bedding four different women doesn't get you in the mood, I don't know what will.

I'm surprised that @Szonana s far is the only person to mention TLD. I think it's a solid choice for V-day.

    FRWL, TSWLM, perhaps OHMSS/CR.

What's wrong with The Living Daylights?

I'd probably go for The Living Daylights, followed by Spectre.

I think it's easy to go for On Her Majesty's Secret Service and Casino Royale because we see Bond fall in love; however, they both end in tragedy, which could easily put a bummer on preceding's with your loved one/date/significant other. Just my opinion of course; maybe end the movies earlier ;;)

Did she go all Rosika Miklos on you after? I would have thought that would more likely have resulted in a marriage proposal rather than a break up.

I'm sorry about that. It's ironic in a way given it was the only film to feature a live 'beating heart'.

I tried to convince my wife about FRWL for a Valentine's Day movie. Didn't work. The only Bond movie she genuinely enjoyed was CR, so if there was any Bond movie for Valentine's Day, at least in my household, it would be that one. When we have children, this may change.

How has no one mentioned LTK yet?

It's got Sanchez's romantic little gesture and a wedding and that's all just in the PTS.

I'll admit things go a little downhill on the romance front after that - particularly for Della.

I don't think most couples want to be seeing such a brutal (and romantically flavorless) film on Valentine's Day.

I think from my own experience that I am always able to watch a 007 flick but find them not quite appropriate for Valentine's day and it is one of these day you go and see a romantic movie. Saw Breakfast at Tiffany's this year which is an appropriate movie to watch at this day.
