Yes please do compare 2016 to when we first came to America. Things are exactly the same now then they were back then. There is also this thing called taxes.. Most illegals do not pay taxes. Roofing companies and construction companies are 90% illegal and they get paid in cash. They do not get checks which automatically deduct money from you. There's a lot of reasons why illegals are an issue that's just one of them.

The same damn people who would claim our second amendment rights need to be "protected" (nobody's taking your goddamn guns away, shut up) would also compare 2016 to the founding of our nation.

If you think having the American President under the thumb of the Russian dictator is a good idea, go ahead and vote for Trump. Otherwise...........

.... don't vote at all. Well, that does look like the best option.

Who is the Russian dictator, and aren t you forgetting some other dictates?

Maybe a few commandments. "Thou shalt not speak ill of thy fellow Republicans..." The commandment of St. Ronnie...

Another great point, @Agent007391. Thanks to Jefferson, the infamous line about taking up arms to prevent government tyranny have made clowns like Alex Jones and his cronies shout foul every time Obama has the audacity to *gasp* get stronger background checks in place.

There's something special I want all of them to do with their guns, but I've got a sneaking suspicion they wouldn't be up for it. A damn shame, that.

I heard similar rumours about Clinton.

Supposedly, this fellow Epstein has befriended both Trump and Bill C. It may well be that the reason Hillary hasn't brought the situation up is that both Bill and Donnie are equally at risk here. The problem is, Trump's case has come to court. Clinton's remains the stuff of rumors.

In December there is a court hearing for Trump. I am not passing this around yet as it may be made up, proved to be false. But the accusations are there, yes. I find it horrendous if true of course: but there are so many other reasons to find Trump not fit for president that I prefer to discuss those.

CNN reporting no direct ties found for Trump and Putin.

    I am not surprised.

Still remains that the U.S. govt has confirmed that Russia has hacked us. They are definitely interfering with the election as much as they can. And it does not absolve Trump from all his fawning over Putin.

Confirmed as in "it is definitely Putin or Assad!" ?

It's far too easy for hackers to trick governments into thinking their hacks are coming from one place, when they're coming from another, so whenever anyone brings up Russian hacks I drone off.

These confirmations about Russian hacking are all coming from our government, mind, whose infrastructure has the security of a five year old's blanket fort. They don't seem to be the tip-top of tech wiz conglomerates.

Reassuring to know that the US has never interfered in the elections or politics of anyone else.

Good point, Brady. Who knows? Not on the top of my list of priorities, but of course we don't want to get hacked by anybody.

Thunderfinger, I don't find us here saying that the U.S. is perfect and never done illegal or immoral things. Where did someone say that? You are implying that we are projecting that. I am not. We are just focusing more on the current candidates in this thread.

No, Thundy. We put people in power, then twenty or thirty years later, we call them our enemy and try to kill them.

    It's different.

Haven't really heard much about Russia just that someone involved with Trumps campaign had ties to someone in Russia who had ties to someone connected with Putin and crime organizations? Is that right? What's the story with Russia and Trump..?

Yes, his former campaign manager (if that is the right title), Paul Manafort, was very involved with Russia and the Ukraine, confirmed ties, and is under investigation by the U.S. government. Manafort stepped down a few months ago (has it been that long?).

I think Trump just likes Putin's style; I am not saying he is in direct communication with Putin. I think Putin must be really enjoying the last 6 months or so of our election cycle, though.

Interesting.. Trump claims he has never met Putin or had contact with him but overall interesting. I voted yesterday for the first time. In and out in 5 minutes lol the benefits of going super early.

Well, I did find this interesting: :)

It seems that some people are filing a complaint regarding FBI director Comey's actions/statements, saying it violates the Hatch Act. What is the Hatch Act?

This video is quite dry but does give good info on what the Hatch Act is and who it affects. It does say specifically that employees of the FBI are "further restricted" at about the 2:35 point in the video. I know it sounds boring, but some of you may find it interesting. This is a government video, put out to explain what the Hatch Act is. It is also found here: https://osc.gov/Pages/HatchAct-HowToFile.aspx

And the first complaint filed to see if this was a violation of the Hatch Act was by an ethics lawyer who worked for Pres. Bush. According to other information I just learned. Interesting. Plus this would not be a criminal violation, only civil. Meaning people found having violated the Hatch Act could be disciplined at work, including losing their jobs, but not jail time.

On Election Day itself, we will be getting so many reports .... some troubling, some comical. It should be a very interesting day, to put it mildly.

One of Trump's most vocal supporters calling for "ballot security" on election day, advising people to dress to look like officials, etc. This has been done before ...

    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/roger-stone-donald-trump-ballot-security_us_5818f6a1e4b0f96eba966f03

    Says in part:

Until a few days ago, the group organizing these “exit polls” was also encouraging volunteers to wear official looking I.D. badges, and to videotape voters approaching the polls. But after HuffPost asked Stone about them, he pulled down the webpages from his site that showed Trump supporters how to create I.D. badges and how to videotape voters at the polls.

Yeah...the GOP is already under court orders (and has been for some time) that forbid it from scaring away voters from the polls under the guise of efforts to guard against election fraud. Of course, laws mean nothing to Herr Drumpf and his minions.
