Not familiar with the comics, so cannot compare, but if I compare to the last DC tv series I tried out, Krypton, this is a lot better. Looks better, better actors and it keeps me sticking to it. I gave up on Krypton during the first episode. Such a waste of a cool idea.
Doom Patrol does also have some problems, in the writing department. "Style over substance" is a term that applies here. This is OK, not great. Couldn t they have made a Metal Men series instead?
Picard season 1 sentimental at times but excellent Star Trek.
Bosch season 2 & Picard have a similar lady playing a role, she is still sexy as heck.
+1
Compulsive viewing, this. You have to see it to believe it. It is... weird, unsettling, surreal.
Everything I read about it here is true. Great show, and another plus for Fukunaga.
Which season are you on? Have yet to watch season 3 myself.
I am still on season 1, but very much looking forward to the rest. I know the cast and crew changes, so optimistic with some reserve.
Really liked season 1. Season 2 didn't match the first, but it wasn't bad. I also found it strange to see Vince Vaughn in a drama role!
I've been watching Archer heavily too! I'm in season 3 of that one. I've heard in recent years the quality has dropped...too bad because this show has so many laugh out loud moments for me right now!
Season 2 has aged very well, I think. Lots of great stuff in it. Many were expecting the first season over again, which is why they were so harsh on it, but it had different strengths and different weaknesses. The third was somewhere between the two, and it was truly superb - Stephen Dorff especially was fantastic as the partner cop.
I love this Icelandic show from 2004.
Jack Ryan series 1 - This was surprisingly good season that feels like a really good spy thriller and is paced very decently, far better than the last cinematic outing for Jack Ryan. Still the character of Jack Ryan was always less of an action hero and more of a really smart thinking mans CIA member that was drawn into field situations because of the case drawn him into it.
I haven't watched season 2 since around the time originally aired, so it will be interesting to give it a watch again. I agree about the fact that many expected more of the same (as season 1) probably affected how they felt about the second season. But there was a lot to like about season 2 as well. I really liked Colin Farrell's performance, for example.
I'll be giving season 3 a watch soon, I think. I really look forward to doing so.
Now on to Ozark.
Really enjoyed Life On Mars when it aired, I still have not watched all of Ashes to Ashes.
Just finished watching the first episode of The Sleepers (Bez vědomí), a Czech espionage drama set in 1989. A slow start, but it will be interesting to see how the story continues.
I finally got around to finishing Fringe a few nights ago. That 5th season is seriously the best. Completely different from the earlier ones which made it seem refreshing. Sad but satisfying ending.
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
A Scandal in Bohemia
The Dancing Men
Wanted to see what the fuzz was all about. Some interesting storylines, but the first season looks so grey! I see that is remedied later.
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes
The Naval Treaty
The Solitary Cyclist
