    FAWLTY TOWERS

I bought the box with the complete series a while ago. It was funny in the 1970s, and it is funny now.

Timeless classics, I have both series on DVD.

I've always enjoyed what I've seen from this series. Can't recall when or which class it was, but I recall watching a good bit of this in school here in America, perhaps the teacher was a big fan of it, and loving it even then.

Same here, and I rarely do that. Must be the funniest British show of all times.

    Eureka
Series 5. Episode 13: Just Another Day

The final episode. The recent events with the duplicates has spooked the DOD, so much that they have decided that the town has become too much of a liability to continue funding. No funding = no more Eureka. As the DOD removal vans move in, there's just time enough for one more distater, and one more time for Carter to throw himself selflessly into the path of disater.

I won't rank every episode, just my top 10. So starting with an honourable mention....

Jack Of All Trades (5, E5)

    And now the top 10....

    10. Just Another Day (S5, E13)

    09. InvincIble (S1, E5)

    08. Once In A Lifetime (S1, E12)

    07. Up In The Air (S4, E14)

    06. Noche de Sueños (S2, E6)

    05. I Do Over (S3, E4)

    04. Smarter Carter (S5, E9)

    03. H.O.U.S.E. Rules (S1, E11)

    02. Dr Nobel (S1, E6)

    01. Games People Play (S2, E4)

I'm catching up on this series of Line of Duty: I'd forgotten how absolutely cracking it is.

It got 15 million viewers consolidated for the first episode: the most recent one got 10 million in overnights- those are astonishing figures and great to see.

    MISSION IMPOSSIBLE

I contemplated buying the boxset with the original series, but wasn t sure if it was as good as I remembered it from the reruns in the 70s. Then I found out that most episodes are available online. Started with the pilot episode from 1966. Don t think I have seen this one before, but it reminded me very much of another episode with a similar plot. Strange seeing this in colour, as I watched it in black and white. Same with many other shows. I loved this show as a kid, so looking forward to exploring it further. There is much I haven t seen.

I love M:I they rerun it in the UK all the time though only the earlier seasons. They never seem to show any episodes after Paris's (Nimoy) first season (season 4).

Just saw the last episode of season 1 of Invincible. That might have been the most brutal thing I have ever seen on a TV screen...

I've read the first third of the comic's run and this is much more brutal than those were. Both because the animation makes the brutality more visceral and because they decided to add some things that really up the ante a whole lot

I really enjoyed it. Great stories, great dialogue and wonderful characters. If you like your protagonist to be likeable but morally ambiguous and your bad guys to also be likeable but not-so-morally ambiguous, then you'll have a blast.

I'm a couple of episodes away from the last episode and although I am sort of enjoying it it is the real definition of a series which is way too long. There was a big inciting incident at the end of episode 1 and since then we've learned precisely nothing: that plot hasn't moved forward an inch. It's quite frustrating.

Sounds a lot like Deadwood then, so it should be right up my alley. Thanks.

Looks like a random collection, and some episodes are low quality. Just ordered the box myself.

I see. Better have a look at the collection then. I see there's a recent Blu-ray release as well (apparently region free), but I could only find the box set available from retailers selling through Amazon.

The best two episodes I've watched over the last week have been Miami Vice, The Prodigal Son (probably my all-time favorite MV episode) and Smuggler's Blues. Next up could be The Great McCarthy, but there are other good ones to revisit.
Mixing and matching the Original Magnum and the new version. Both enjoyable in different ways.
Great to hear. I'm a big fan of the original series too, and Selleck in general, and many of the episodes get all the elements balanced really well, though I tend to avoid some episodes.

I’ve been watching old episodes of old shows that didn’t last long. I found them on YouTube. The George Carlin Show (1994), The Michael Richards Show (2000), and Listen Up (2004). Unique too say the least.

I do hope that Blu-ray set finds it's way to more online stores eventually. The video quality looks good. If not, then the DVD set is the way to go.

Just watched the first two episodes, pretty good so far one particular scene and the themes it it is looking at grabbed my attention. Will be interesting to see where the rest of the show goes.
