I was doubting to create this thread since there are many about how would you rank the actor who played bond but i latter thought doing just to keep it as a discussion if you agree with me on these main categories to rank them or these three ways to do it without giving the rankings which we have done so many times

The cinemmatic way/ The Bond created by Terrence young which is the most common belief within regular movie goers and people who do like Bond but are not huge bond fans.
That perfect Bond would be : the man every man wants to be and every woman would like to be with. He is charming, sophisticated, great sense of humor, Handsome and enjoys the luxuries of working with mi6.

The Fleming way which is the most common within the huge bond fans, thebiggest fans who have read every Bond novel and has seen all the films.
The Fleming way describes Bond as blunt instrument in the hands of the goverment, a very unlikable guy Sexist, womanizer , an alcoholic and even though he is great at his job he hates it.

Your very subjective favorties : the Bond actors you enjoy the most to watch with the traits you care the most for to make the Perfect Bond, could have some of the traits from the fleming Bond and some of the cinemmatic Bond.

    It's a good post @Szonana

I often think about this. Do I prefer a cinematic Bond purely for fun and entertainment. Do I want Bond to be as close to Fleming's vision as possible.

My favourite actor overall is Timothy Dalton, maybe because I feel he is the one closest to Fleming's vision.

Connery might be the one that was the best "mix" between cinematic and true to Fleming.

Everybody has his favourite, many love Daniel Craig, because his movies take Bond to a deeper level of personal issues.

For me the "perfect" Bond movie would probably be FYEO with Timothy Dalton or Casino Royale with a young Sean Connery.

I always wonder what a 60s Casino Royale would have looked like, it makes me really curious and i wonder if the cast would have been the same

Personally i would have kept it exactly the same with just different names.

    Connery- Bond
    Weisman- Le chiffre
    Ursulla Andres- Vesper Lynd
    Eunice Gayson- Solange

    As for my favorites

My overall Favorite is Pierce Brosnan

The most cinemmatic Bonds are Pierce, Connery and Toger Moore

The two closest to Fleming are Timothy Dalton and Daniel Craig

The greatest balance between both Bonds are Sean Connery and Daniel Craig.
Connery is the iconic cinemmatic Bond who got some traits of Fleming but Craig is Fleming Bond perfectly well adapted to appeall the masses.

I think that was the problem with Dalton that the producres didn't know to put on a faithful to Fleming film on the big screen and were scared of it would work. cubby was too inmerssed in his own Bond Terrence created for him. So it took him of guard the idea Dalton had to make Bond Faithful to Fleming while his daughter Barbara had an all or nothing way of thinking.

She knew she had to take a big step after Die Another day and she was sure the Audiences would take well a more realistic Bond.

A few movie gores said hey That's not Bond Bond is supposed to be like an almost perfect guy but many who don't care about Fleming and don't know who is were very satisfied to see a new take on Bond.

For example one of my uncles love the classic ideal of Bond but without having a clue about Fleming he says he is happy with this new more Human Bond.

Craig is a very polarizing Bond especially between the regular movie goers who think of Bond as Gentleman spy.
Some say cool we have a new Modern Bond closer to reality who bleeds and sweats bit really fights like a real action star and others say Bond is super to be almost perfect who gets out of situations by luck and cleverness.

I confirm between the The regular movie goers because hard Core fans have accepted him without question and the same with Dalton the real fans love him because he is very faithful to the novels and the description Fleming gave him physically and in personality.

Maybe Dalton should have made Goldeneye and Pierce start with Casino Royale.

    Dalton making

    The living daylights
    Licence to Kill
    Goldeneye

    Then Pierce

    Casino Royale
    Tomorrow never dies
    The world is not enough
    Die Another day

Almost by definition the first category would have to go to Connery, as he literally was the Bond that Terence Young created.

I've long said that the closest we get to Fleming's Bond is Roger Moore in his first two outings. Of course the films themselves contain zaniness that is far from anything we'll find in the master's catalog outside of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, but watch Moore himself: his style, his class, his cruel vs. nobel nature.

Personal is again Connery. I thought Craig was gaining ground, but I am so turned off by his performance in SPECTRE that he's no longer a threat. If Moore had stopped at three, he would be a close second, but he didn't.

yes ofcourse that first categories is a no Brainier, he took Connery under his wing to make the cinemmatic Bond and was latter closely Followed by Pierce and Roger Moore
