The PS2 version of QoS is awesome.
The villian even gets himself captured, for no reason at all. He gets himself captured then an insanely large group of terrorists assault the secret army base (which is essentially just the floating water base from the Avengers), then he goes and hacks the thing. Why didn't he just attack the base with those guys instead of wasting his time getting captured?
Now he's a terrorist not part of a real military force, his army isn't backed by a goverment and isn't that big, so to destroy LA he hacks into all America's future robot things. Fair enough, makes sense. Except when you get to LA you find yourself battling tons of humans as usual.
Lets assume these are his followers, he's shown to have lots of Youtube subscribers, etc. He's popular. But how are they armed? Why are some idiots from the internet running around with assault rifles? This wouldn't have to make sense if the game didn't try to focus on story so much and if it didn't take itself so seriously.
The choice system is alright. So far it hasn't had much of an impact. It did let me kill off an ally that was annoying me, so there's that.
MW3 had a much better campaign because it didn't try to be something it wasn't. It just accepted that it was a big Micheal Bay flick. It was OTT and unrealistic, but it knew it. Black Ops 2 however tries to be all serious and emotional, and it tries to develop it's story, but it falls flat on it's face because ultimately this is a game about blowing stuff up.
This series should leave story telling to games like Assassins Creed and Max Payne.
I prefer its stealth-based focus as opposed to the COD/action focus of the PS3/360 version.
-More accurate to the events of the films
-Keeps you more interested than the next gen version
-Paces much better
-Funner gunfights that allow you to be tactical
-Great action set pieces, especially the Sienna chase, the Bregenz gunfight, fighting helicopters at the Sink Hole, and the gunfights in the Casino.
I really recommend it. You will have more fun with it than with the weak next gen version.
Yes. It's one of the two Bond games Activision made right (the other being Blood Stone). The only downer is that it has no multiplayer. Imagine the epicness that would have ensued if we had split-screen on PS2 QOS.
I loved this too. The writing was brilliant, I actually gave a sh*t about the characters, etc.
It's also the only time where I haven't acted like a dick in a game with choices just to ammuse myself. And that's because unlike Fallout, Mass Effect 2 and Skyrim, I cared about how my choices would affect the characters (which I gave a sh*t about).
I hope for the sequel though there are less puzzles. I know that's why lots of people play these sort of games but to me they were boring and just slowed the game down. For the next one I hope it focuses on the story, the choices and the action bits.
So far, i'm really liking this game and more importanly, the portrayal of Lara in this game. Depending on how the rest of the game pans out, it may overthrow Legend as my favourite Tomb Raider game.
High praise indeed. Legend is also my favourite of the franchise, so hearing that this may better it has me salivating at the thought! A must buy then...
Have been getting the dreaded 'disc read error' tho X(
Very fun, very addicting, very.. graphically needy though. My old brick of a laptop struggles even on low settings.
Still fun nonetheless. Would suggest.
I'm a F.E.A.R fanatic. I must have already finished the first game and its expansion packs (Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate) very far into the double digits. F.E.A.R ² is another one I like very much. F.3.A.R drops a little in my rating system compared to its predecessors but even this game still has lots of the good stuff to offer for anyone who's into the scary world of F.E.A.R. I must admit I have more trouble going through this game unscathed versus the previous entries in the series, mostly because of an increased difficulty level (those phase commanders are some tough guys to beat) and as I'm continually forced to replay a certain part of a level, I tend to lose my nerves a bit. ;-) But overall, I appreciate the graphics, the story, the atmosphere, the AI and the shooting very much. Twice now I've finished the third instalment in the F.E.A.R series. I'm not sure if there will ever be a fourth but if there ever is, I'm game. ;-)
What real puzzles were there, besides pick this item up and use it elsewhere? (Honestly, the only time I was stumped was the drugstore in episode 1.) My only problem was that the 5th episode was too damn short (though I was happy that I was able to beat it before the latest episode of the show aired).
Things like fixing the train and finding items. Just thought those sections were way too slow and boring.
Don't know what I was thinking, it is the only game that makes me angry.
Games shouldn't do that [-X
Probably gonna order Tomb Raider. still not sure it will be as good as far cry 3 tho.
Think I will get it then and I agree also about the latter part of spoiler.
I notice its only 30 quid in amazon, seems pretty cheap.
I think MW3 was the best in the series. Although I normally wait for the price to drop with these games because they're always very similar. If you bought it day 1 and paid £40 then I can see why you wouldn't like it.
I thought MW2 had some cool bits but it took itself way too seriously. Didn't like that one much at all. Multiplayer was alright but I don't really like the multiplayer on these games anyway.
WAW was very good, Black Ops and Modern Warfare were fun, but I prefer Modern Warfare 3. Better set pieces. Didn't like Black Ops 2 much for the reasons I mentioned at the top of the page.
