Ha ha not heard of that film, that is bad. Many photos must be in public domain and can be used for anything.

My opinions on those two are flipped. I like the one for OP but don't like the one fore AVTAK. Roger looks strange on it.

I'm pretty sure Roger looks like that in the film.

He doesn't look as bad as that cover though. :))

I'm pretty sure that's what a 57-year old looks like when he's desperate.

A gust of wind high up on the Eifel Tower looks potentially hair raising in that picture.

That specific set of Bluray covers was hit and miss for me. But at least they were more inspired than the boring screencap covers we have out here now.

Glad you changed the title :)

Here are the original DVD covers, respectively booklets from the late nineties/early 00's.

@Murdock - Yeah, the special/ultimate editions are by far the best. My fav is the cover to YOLT, with Connery looking bad ass, behind him is a ninja and the setting sun.

Ever since then they have been dreadful. How do you f*** up so baldy on photoshop? Dreadful, dreadful, dreadful.

Although, I have the steelbook editions of CR, QoS and SF, and their cover art is an image taken from the main titles. Superb! If they decided to released all of the classic Bond films in the main title artwork, I'm afraid that I won't have the will power to resist.

@royale65, That YOLT cover is my favorite too, I also like the AVTAK one too.

As for the newer stuff I'm not sure how they can. Photoshop can be an excellent tool. I Just made 24 wallpapers for all the Bond movies with it and they have much more love and effort put into them than the boring covers we have today. It's just a screencap with some questionable airbrushing and darkening filters put over it with a boring white background. No effort. It's pretty sad.

That being said, I do love the Steelbooks, I don't own any of them but they are fantastic. I love the uses of the Main title sequence as the main artwork, that's very ingenious. I tried incorporating the Main title sequence in most of my wallpaper designs for the Bond movies and I loved how well it worked. :)

For your viewing pleasure, I have what I consider to be the best Bond movie covers ever. I've spent a few years collecting all these in HD, enjoy everyone.

I agree these are the best. The 1996 VHS covers were those with a few exceptions - TMWTGG, TSWLM, FYEO, OP, AVTAK and TLD were different. They look like the 2000 covers which were the same as the 1996 ones with those different ones above. Also the 2000 LTK cover has more green in it. My 1996 GoldenEye cover is very different, but think it may be unique to the UK, I think North America always had a different cover there. A couple of my 2000 VHS cover sleaves are reversible with the original 1996 cover on the other side.

The colours were also slightly different on the Goldfinger 1996 and 2000 covers too.

These are the original 1996 covers

Yes I've seen a few of the alternate covers. I actually own the rare covers for OP and TMWTGG. These specifically.

I wonder what other alternate versions there are.

I have that Octopussy CD. Interestingly my TMTGG VHS cassette is the widescreen edition but came in the standard 4:3 pan scan edition box.

Sorry for the repetitive nature of this post but I recently found my entire collection of Bond VHS tapes and I photographed the two rare "Special edition" covers I had. I don't have a picture scanner sadly but when I ever get access to one I will scan these for full quality and preservation. If I find the right still and reference photo's I may recreate both covers.

I believe those covers specifically were more common in the UK where these were more common in the US.

Ah, I see. I have those two above on my SE DVDs. Moore in the OP always confused me. Painting? Photo? Rudimental photoshop?

Ah, yes - I love the TMWTGG VHS cover. So dark and mysterious. Kind of a B movie theme.

Yes, those two were then used on the Special Edition DVDs in the UK. Interestingly, on the back of the TMWTGG SE DVD cover is a photo of Bond and Miss Caruso from Live and Let Die

It's really heavy photoshop work, They took a lot of wrinkles off his face. The OP cover was made using a couple images.
The Pic of Bond himself was used from this still image.

@royale65, my pleasure. :) I'm still trying to find the source images of the other OP cover which is pretty obvious photoshop as you can see Moore's neck doesn't match the lighting of the suit correctly so it's a little off. Part of the fun of those Covers is finding the images the used to make them.

This thread brought back a lot of memories! The first collection I had was the VHS set with the matching spines that showed all of them up to Die Another Day. Followed by the Early-00's DVD's.

I had the same collection but the spines never made that cool artwork. When I get the chance I plan on organizing all my tapes and taking a nice big group photo of them.
