@PropertyOfALady were they from DVD or Blu Ray - they should be longer on Blu Ray than DVD because of the 24fps on Blu Ray?

These were from Blu-Ray. Let me just say that I had no idea that I would wake up to 34 comments this morning. I was fairly certain that this would go straight to the bottom, and would never be commented on. I'm amazed by how this has gotten more than I ever expected.

Harry Potter movies have 12-14 minutes of end credits and if you know Harry Potter 3, 5 and 8 are already not that long. QOS is only Bond movie from all the 8 movies i have seen in cinema that i have seen complete with end credits. But those started already started after 100 minutes and end credits be worth it to lissen atleast. Movie turn better after more then one view, but with first view it feels very short.

Don't forget the time differences between NTSC/PAL/DVD/Bluray

And there may be subtle differences between releases (the GF blu ray might be missing 1/3 second due to the absence of the door slam right before the title sequence)

Yes. I doublechecked it, viewed it in slow motion to check if there's a PTS but after the MGM lion there's only a black screen for a second. Strange.

The black screen is the PTS. It must be some heavy symbolism. Art.

    For Your Eyes Only
    MGM lion/UA logo: 23 seconds
    gun barrel: 20 seconds
    PTS: 5 minutes 55 seconds
    titles: 2 minutes 45 seconds
    Total: 9 minutes 23 seconds

Those 20 seconds of gunbarrel is that include Presents credits.. ;)
I'm sure TWINE has the longest PTS.

Around 13 minutes and DAD is 11.

    Coming up next:

How much screentime Desmond Q get in all of his 17 movies and is this more or les then Judi Dench M in 8 movies or Bernard Lee M in 12 movies (Include couple of seconds of his painting in Twine)

    :D

Did this a while back, might aswell post it here. As you see the difference isn't big between SP and OHMSS for the top spot, as Spectre end credits are so damn long.

James Bond movie lenghts without end credits

    1. Spectre = 2:21:17
    2. On Her Majesty’s Secret Service = 2:21:12
    3. Casino Royale = 2:20:32
    4. Skyfall = 2:18:08
    5. Licence to kill = 2:10:37
    6. Thunderball = 2:09:36
    7. A view to a kill = 2:08:40
    8. Die another day = 2:08:27
    9. The living daylights = 2:08:14
    10. Octopussy = 2:07:39
    11. Goldeneye = 2:06:39
    12. For your eyes only = 2:05:20
    13. The world is not enough = 2:04:24
    14. The man with the golden gun = 2:04:17
    15. Moonraker = 2:04:13
    16. The spy who loved me = 2:03:57
    17. Live and let die = 2:00:18

How about - how long until 007 appears on screen, how long until he speaks, how long until he hits the booze, how long until his first kill, how long until he gets jiggy with it

    Noted.

First I'll finish the main task.
    Then screentime of each side-character.
    Then your suggestions :))
That'll keep me (and Property) busy for a while.

Don't forget PTS length of each Bond film. Also you could see if there's any correlation between things - eg. do longer Bond films tend to do better at the box office? How do IMDB ratings of the Bond films correspond to box office takings, etc,

    @tanaka123

I already started doing the PTS and other stuff, for 6 movies. Another 6 will follow tonight :)
Nice suggestions, once all the data is here, we can make correlations and comparisons :)

film logo, gun barrel, PTS, title sequence in numbers:

    Dr. No
    MGM lion: 10 seconds
    gun barrel: 24 seconds
    PTS: 0 seconds
    titles: 2 minutes 16 seconds
    Total: 2 minutes 50 seconds

    Diamonds Are Forever
    MGM lion/UA logo: 23 seconds
    gun barrel: 23 seconds
    PTS: 4 minutes 12 seconds
    titles: 2 minutes 48 seconds
    Total: 7 minutes 46 seconds

    For Your Eyes Only
    MGM lion/UA logo: 23 seconds
    gun barrel: 20 seconds
    PTS: 5 minutes 55 seconds
    titles: 2 minutes 45 seconds
    Total: 9 minutes 23 seconds

    A View To A Kill
    MGM lion/Zorin disclaimer: 15 seconds
    gun barrel: 22 seconds
    PTS: 5 minutes 38 seconds
    titles: 3 minutes 18 seconds
    Total: 9 minutes 33 seconds

    Die Another Day
    MGM lion: 10 seconds
    gun barrel: 19 seconds
    PTS: 12 minutes 52 seconds
    titles: 3 minutes 21 seconds
    Total: 16 minutes 42 seconds

    Casino Royale
    MGM lion/Columbia logo: 30 seconds
    PTS: 3 minutes 11 seconds
titles: 3 minutes 14 seconds (including 4 seconds of gun barrel)*
    Total: 6 minutes 55 seconds

*CRs gun barrel is flowing into the pre title sequence with the music already going.

    8. Die another day = 2:08:27
    9. The living daylights = 2:08:14
    10. Octopussy = 2:07:39
    11. Goldeneye = 2:06:39
    12. For your eyes only = 2:05:20
    13. The world is not enough = 2:04:24
    14. The man with the golden gun = 2:04:17
    15. Moonraker = 2:04:13
    16. The spy who loved me = 2:03:57
    17. Live and let die = 2:00:18

    21. From Russia with Love = 1:53:48
    22. Dr No = 1:49:15
    23. Goldfinger = 1:48:54
    24. Quantum of Solace = 1:41:59

So based on this these are the current tenures of each actor:

    Sean: 695.43 mins
    Laz: 141.12
    Rog: 873.24
    Tim: 258.51
    Broz: 494.59
    Dan: 521.56

So Dan only has to make one more to be the second longest serving Bond (assuming its longer than 1hr 34 mins).

I cant ever see Rog's total being caught although he was 45 when he started which is pretty remarkable. If they get someone when they are 35 who keeps his youthful looks as long as Rog then even with a 3 year gap between films that total is achievable.

It would have to be close to three hours long. Check your math.

I stand corrected. I wrote that at 1 in the morning and was seeing 5hrs 21 not 521 minutes.

My maths was indeed wrong - much like your English old son.

This is great fun. Anything I could do @BondJasonBond006?

    I'll finish the logo/gun barrel/PTS/titles statistic tonight.
I'll also do a ranking for each category.
You can then copy paste it into your opening post.

Then we can decide what to measure next :) I'll PM you.
