In P&W's world Hannes Oberhauser could have been shagging Monique on the side and turns out to actually be Bond's dad and he faked his own death and is actually running SPECTRE from behind the scenes.
I'd appreciate it if you could avoid lumping me in the same boat as @IGUANNA if you could old chap. Whilst I am obviously being facetious he probably genuinely thinks those are cracking ideas.
Actually, @IGUANNA is on to something that may make the whole Austin-powers-like brotherly rivalry crap more acceptable: it will explain Blofeld's issues; explain Bond's early training; and may also explain how/why MI6 found him and took him. Granted, none of it sounds very Fleming-like, but EON backed itself into a horrible corner with this Blofeld-Bond childhood relationship, and IGUANNA just provided a way out.
The day we start treating @IGUANNA's ideas as serious considerations for Bond scripts is the day I never watch another Bond film.
I'd sooner have Tamahori back, a return for Jinx and the same comedy FX company who did the DAD CGI. With Newman writing the score.
Unfortunately, the last film effed up the entire franchise with its hair-brained Blofeld-Bond connection. So I am not sure what EON can do to repair the damage. What he proposed makes a lot more sense than having an implausible "coincidence" explain that connection.
What you're suggesting is akin to the great idea the CIA had in the 80s 'Let's arm the Mujahadeen. They must be better than the hated Soviets. What could go wrong?' And here we are.
So Bond's parents were working for an organisation that was founded by a future teenage acquaintance of their son. Well, I say teenage, presumably he'd have to have set it up at primary school to be in the sort of position that affords an international recruitment drive. Jesus wept.
No Hannes founded it and Franz topped him and nicked the family business after his old man has already recruited the Bonds. Makes perfect sense.
And how about Andrew Bond slung one up a certain Mrs White at a particulary raucous SPECTRE briefing and Mr White is also Bond's half brother? And therefore Madeline's his half neice? This is dynamite stuff. Someone send it to EON.
And What about this.... bare with me.... dead M is revealed to be Madeleine's mother ?
There are so many possivilities moving forward it makes my brain whirl and scream with excitement. :)

Well those ideas mainly make me scream but with frustration rather than excitement.
You had me with the Bond family-Spectre connection. But, uh...no, not with that M / Madeleine thing. LOL
Not really given we saw through him months ago.
Me: So Nicola (wife), did you enjoy Spectre?
Nic: I did yes, more than Skyfall. It was more like a proper Bond film.
Me: What did you make of the foster brother plot twist?
Nic: What? Oh for God's sake don't ask me to remember anything about the plot. They're all the same to me, apart from Skyfall.
Me: So Simon (my brother in law) Did you enjoy Spectre?
Simon: Erm..it was ok.
Me: What did you make of the foster brother plot twist?
Simon: Eh? What?.......So, is Idris Elba the next Bond? Says so in my paper.
Me: So baby girl (my daughter) Did you enjoy Spectre
My baby girl: It was alright, but I didn't understand it if I'm honest
Me: So, the foster brother plot twist isn't on your radar?
My baby girl: Hold on..are we talking about that James Bond film you made me watch? I thought they could've had a prettier girl in the role. That's all I really remember.
Me: So Meg (son's girlfriend), did you enjoy Spectre.
Meg: loved it.
Me: What did you make of the foster brother plot twist?
Meg: I.....what's a foster brother?
@thewizardofice exactly and he is still here.
Please nnnooooo!!!!
I think that it must just take some members longer than others in noticing that. It's either that or they "have eaten on the insane root...[t]hat takes the reason prisoner." as the Bard put it.
What is the definition of a perfect troll? @Iguanna's troll status is well known but he is a long term member - he treads the line between provoking people's ire and getting warnings expertly. That is my point. It was a compliment.
