Very clever, how they handled that scene on film.

Absolutely. It's incredibly intense, but the humor is just at the right moment.

I remember the audience loved it.

I really need to replace my Fleming novels collection. I have a few books left, but watching this is making me want to go back and re-read some of them.

The best part of the CR novel, is the card game.

Mr. Mendel is great. Excellent performance, IMO.

    Bond and Vesper..........

Here comes the little finger bit.

    007's resignation................

I hate to admit this, but I've used Bond's "I hereby tender my resignation with immediate effect", when resigning from a position. Under certain circumstances, if one senses a job is no good, poor pay, working conditions, or the duties don't end up being what were described in the job description- to hell with a two week notice.

CR is one Bond film in which I most certainly prefer the 2nd half.

Bond films I think that have a better 2nd half than 1st half:

    -DN
    -FRWL
    -OHMSS
    -TMWTGG
    -FYEO
    -LTK
    -CR

Also potentially TB, YOLT, LALD, and AVTAK. The others I’d either say I prefer the first half or about equal.

I'd probably agree with that list. I might add LALD to that one for myself.

TMWTGG as well. Indeed. I really like the section on Scramanga's island.

    Bond shoots Mr White.

Every time I see Mr White now I feel compelled to do Daniel's "Mr White! Of course!!!" line.

    Thanks a lot, SPECTRE.

    Great ending here, though.
One of the great final scenes in a Bond, IMO.

Second only to " A little soap here, a little soap there".

I remember watching CR last when I was food poisoned. Unforgettable stuff; sadly either had to pause or miss some scenes due to... well, you know.

Great viewing of CR today. I enjoyed this time as much as I did in 2006.

Resuming my reverse Bondathon up next is Die Another Day as bad as it is this film to me has become a fun watch of sorts.

Almost ducked when Brosbond fired that bullet in the gun barrel sequence,I love the track during the surfing scene in the pre title sequence.

The hovercraft chase is mental, the practical stunts are very good.

Unfortunately true I don't take this film seriously it's all kinds of bad, though for me it veers into its so bad it's entertaining.

Arnold's score has some good themes, I often listen to this soundtrack.

Madonna's Die Another Day is not the worst Bond song now, I never thought I would say that.

    Hobo Brosbond looks ridiculous :))

Brosbond has watched the Flint films lowering his heart rate.

Jinx 'born on Friday the 13th' is a epically bad line, that is delivered equally as bad.

The first half hour is excellent, and there are plenty of other great scenes and elements throughout. The lows are as low as the franchise goes, but at least there were the highs (which is more than I can say about a certain later Bond film).
