The confidence is what gets me every time about that intro. If he was nervous, he didn't show it. It's quite different to another casino rendition of those famous words which was to come some 30+ years later.

It's quite remarkable what Sean did in Dr. No Terrence Young coached him well

Watching this on a 4K player and 4K TV looks amazing upscaled, Eon give us 4K transfers the early films will be unbelievable

Connery always seemed menacing in Dr. No his body language was great as an actor, in a instant he could change mindset

You're right. I also get the impression, thinking about the film, that Connery was just starting to get used to the character (and that showed to me in certain scenes), and in following films he'd be even more at home in it.

Bond v Dent one of the best scenes in the series, no matter how many times I have watched the scene it's always intense.

When megaphone man is trying to call out Bond et al, its funny when he removes mega phone from his mouth he still has mega phone sound voice :))

I assumed that the guys Jamaican accent was feared to be too difficult for Brits and Americans. Hence the dubbed voice.

It's amusing the accent is not the issue it's the timing

Bonds interaction with Julius No is far superior to many films that followed

Carey Robinson (Guard with Loudspeaker). Seems that was his only acting role.

It was so depressing as a fan in 1985 to get to the end of the AVTAK credits and only see James Bond Will Return, and it still depresses me. It was like getting a slap in the face. Worse is that they could have gone ahead and committed to the Fleming title that they ended up using: James Bond Will Return in THE LIVNG DAYLIGHTS. Just to get that thrill one last time.

The first film I watched at the cinema was OP, I was 9 at the time I watched every Bond film at the cinema after that, Danjaq often miss sold the next film at the current films end credits

Personally I love alot of false narrative that exist within the films, it lends to alternate time lines and speculation. Admittedly in the 80's all we did was watch the next film without online BS

Even though I saw most of the '60s films (and DAF) at the drive-in, I didn't become cognizant of the reveal of the next film's title at the end until LALD.

I miss simpler times, my first Bond film was LALD on beta Max, a wish would be to be around during GF and TB cinema release.

The first 17 minutes of TLD are about perfect (marred only by a horrible Title Song over a lame Title Sequence). Then we hit the first misstep; the pipeline distraction. It gets pretty good again after that, and remains strong until the damned snow chase.

The opening jump sequence is phenomenal, Barry's score is a great Swan song

Great movie. And who knows--maybe Kara even saved James' life! with her cello during that escape.

AVTAK could leapfrog OP in my ranking; they have been neck and neck for a while. Way back in the day AVTAK took my last place; it’s now 18 and has a chance to climb up 1 or 2 more spots. I find an awful lot to enjoy in it despite its shortcomings.

It completely loses me in Afghanistan (and that rooftop chase is hard to get through, as well), and as a result ends up in the lower third of my rankings. It's hardly the only Bond film to fall flat in the finale, but it falls so far (for me). There I nothing I enjoy in that entire mideast sequence.
I'm afraid I agree. The finale at Whitaker's isn't all that good either imho, and neither is the concert sequence that follows, where Kamran and his Afgan cohorts suddenly show up with their guns. Quite cheesy stuff.

TLD is one of the most beloved Bond films here. It is a good but not great Bond film in my eyes. The third act drags it down too much. It has some really awesome stuff in it though.

I do like Bond's reveal to Kara after she drugs him. I don't quite remember but I think he pulls his gun when Necros comes in, doesn't he.

Just started the best Bond film (aka Casino Royale). Best PTS to start of course.

I seriously doubt Bond can be this great again. CR is constant awesomeness.

They set the bar too high.

Great musical score to accompany the story and action too.

Miami sequence incoming. One of my favorite Bond segments ever. From the museum to the epic airport scene.

It’s good but probably a bit overrated. The best part of the third act though.

It’s so hard for me to pick between CR’s first half and second half. They’re both amazing in different ways.

Craig is such a natural in the tux. It was meant to be.

It really should have ended with her playing the concert and Bond watching from a box.
Agreed. That would have been much better.

Am I the only one who likes the Afganistan sequence? Firstly, it's different to the generic shootouts in GF, TB, YOLT, OHMSS, DAF, TSWLM, MR and TND. The Gilbert finales are the worst contenders because they even have the same/similar "stuntman being blown away from explosion" angle. And the cargo net fight is unique and one of the few great fights seen since its release

Barring something unforeseeable, CR isn’t leaving my top spot. It’s just so flipping good.

w2bond, one thing I like about that sequence is Bond's stealth in taking the bomb into the truck. And yes, the cargo net fight is good--heights play on the nerves.
