Tangier. Damn more piss filter. Tangier looked so beautiful and epic in The Living Daylights.

I have been to Tanger. Very picturesque city.

I HATE that Bond has his holster on his belt. Excuse me, but James Bond agent 007 of the British Secret Service wears a shoulder holster.

Fleming's Bond would fire his tailor if the jacket were not cut properly with enough room to conceal his weapon.

It is an old city situated at the coast, with surrounding populated hillsides.

I really love old buildings. I've never been to a Bond location.....except that I live near to where TSWLM novel takes place.

Swann dumps Bond in the street and walks away. I could see Pierce playing that scene beautifully.

    M.............action hero.

Twenty minutes to go, yet the film should probably be ending around this mark. This one most certainly needed tighter editing.

I'm starting to appreciate Waltz's Blofeld more though.

    The MI6 building explodes again.

RIP Pierce's MI6. To be honest, I never really liked that MI6 building. I preferred the one used in Roger's later films.

M, Bond and everyone in pursuit of Blofeld after the copter crashes into the bridge.
Even Tanner looks like he might open a can of whoop ass.

I'm glad he let Blofeld go. Now he can go about his life, dump Swann, eventually meet Tracy, get married and have Blofeld ruin that too.

A teary pain face (à la the breakdown at Baku in TWINE) just flashed before me.

Pretty much what I was picturing. Or his great TND facial expression when Paris says " Did I come to close..........for comfort?"

Ugh. That would be the other one, yes. Despite my distaste for his sentimental overacting, in a way it beats Craig's blank expression in SP upon hearing the news. "You're leaving?" Ok, carry on then. Don't let me stop you.

Craig does look indifferent in that scene.

When Swann dumps Bond I could see Pierce shouting "Then maybe you shouldn't be living HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE!"

Haha. He would have shown some emotion at least, that's for sure. Subtlety was never Pierce's forte.

I think Tim's performance might have been along the lines of with Kara in Kamran's home. We would have had a misty eyed close up of Dalton there.

Both Dalton and Brosnan were prone to emotion. It's why I have them towards the bottom of the pile sadly. Not my preference for her majesty's finest.

As much as Roger used to get thrashed for only being comedic, he was quite believable in serious moments and quite versatile. I think had he played a scene like the one with Swann on the London streets it would have been very convincing.

Most definitely. You had made an important observation about Rog in TMWTGG in another thread which I will quote there to agree with shortly. He was indeed very versatile and they've missed his (and Sean's) abilities in this regard since imho.

Altogether now, here comes the greatest line in not only Bond history,
    cinema history.........................................

    OF COURSE! MR WHITE!!!!!

    YES!!!!
I love the little nod he does afterwards. I had to rewind and watch again.

I have no problem with that moment,i cant see what people hate about it.

It really gets thrashed on, but I like it. I also like Bond's reaction to the Sinatra tune coming on. That gadget wasn't what he expected. I like the whole chase sequence overall, really.

Me too.....the whole cinema laughed at those 2 moments.

Most of the time it wasnt Sir Roger being comedic,it was the story evolving around him..he was quite straight in most of his films.

It was a mistake on Mendes part to interrupt the chase with the call to Moneypenny..but I have to say I enjoy the car chase too, particularly the second part when the cars descend the steps!

Is the staircase fight scene from Casino Royale ripped right from the Live and Let Die novel?

Syd Cain's work as production designer is so underrated. While it is not as grand in scope as Ken Adam, it is really amazing. Watching LALD, and I love every nuance of Bond's flat. The kitchen, fancy espresso maker, the bedroom very classy, filled decanter on side table in living room, elegant paintings. Just realized there is a window with Venetian blinds looking into the kitchen. Great stuff
