I love Barry's score as they ride to M's headquarters, the sunken Queen Elizabeth.

I almost wish Scaramanga had a contract on you.

Same here. Very atmospheric. I also really like the scene which precedes it, where Bond is observing the club from a distance and Nic Nac shows up to check his tie in the store window. It's quite a moody scene which builds to the Scaramanga shot very nicely.

You skipped the assassination of Gibson for the solex. Great scene. NicNac gets some time to shine.

To think when this came out, the films were pretty much on a year and a half schedule.
LALD was released a year and a half after DAF, and this one after LALD.

Perhaps it was due to Guy Hamilton that got this batch of films out so quickly?

Christopher Lee looks great. Hands down my favorite Roger villain. Hands down my favorite Dracula (well, tied with Bela).

I'm never sure which niece was in KUNG FU HUSTLE.

    Take Mr Bond to school.

I wonder how this karate school scene would have played with Sean?
I'm picturing the Sean of DAF getting creamed a bit by Chula before getting the upper hand.

    Same as Roger.

The way he says that is very memorable.

I've always enjoyed what follows 'at school' (including the Kung Fu nieces) although I realize many members can't stand it. A precursor to famous sequences which riff off it in SW, Raiders etc (I'm referring to Bond prematurely ending one of his encounters with a surprise manoeuvre).

    Oh yes, good spot.

It's one of my favorite sections of TMWTGG. Genuinely funny, IMO.

Now the nieces take over while Bond slacks off.

I must say it's refreshing watching this SE DVD copy. The colors are quite saturated.
TMWTGG is the only Bond film I never have seen in the cinema, so I don't know what the 35mm prints looked like. I'd assume this is closer than the Lowery restoration.

I love this bit when Roger pushes this kid off the boat.

Someone should track this kid down and get him interviewed on James Bond Radio.

    YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Controversial opinion:

I think JW Pepper is even funnier in TMWTGG than in LALD.

    He's great here!

    He's completely obnoxious.

Thailand is the LAST place I'd think J.W. would go for a vacation. I see him going down to Florida.

    Ah my favorite scene!!!!

Oh, darling, I'm tempted. But, killing a few hours as one of your passing fancies, isn't quite my scene.

James is dissed to the max.

I swing between his performance here and in LALD and enjoy them both.

I think his best scenes are with the elephant and also when he has his head out the window bellowing like a lunatic at that Thai chap who loses control of the car. Hilarious.

Roger has a great facial expression as she leaves.

He also has some great lines in the car chase.
