    I like how Roger's hair is jacked up after the centrifuge. Speaking of hair, compared to Chang's 1979 "Nicholas from Eight Is Enough" bowl-cut, Moore looks timeless. The satiny or silk zipper shirt is a tad dated, though. If this were VIEW he'd be wearing his tracksuit.
    2001 music............one of the great scenes here: The pheasant shooting is a classic Bond "Eff You" to the villain moment. Roger is cool as can be here.

    Venice- Roger's beautiful gray suit matches the scenery. Once again he gets rejected by Holly. She's not buying his charm. When shot down by a beauty, 007 keeps his cool. You won't see Sir Rog's 007 crying or stalking Dr Goodhead on facebook. Not his style.
    Gondola chase.....................................ok that's over.
    I'd love future Bond adventures to have more scenes like this one where he sneaks into the lab. Classic Bond stuff here.

    Chang fight is hilarious. I love it when they smash all the precious glass.
    Roger climbs a rope.........I used to do that in gym class.

    Maybe it's Chahhhng? No long A sound. Okay .........he's about to say it...............
    I think it's Chang, but pronounced with the "ahhh" sound. He says it pretty fast.

    Manuela!!!!!! Moore is smooth.
    Another great Bond spying moment when he breaks into the warehouse. When I was a kid anytime I climbed on something I tried to do it like Roger here when he climbs up to the roof in the alley.
    Jaws........... dancing around with Manuela.
    Great little confrontation here. There goes Jaws.....and the last we see of Manuela.

    Manuela, along with George Best's gf in the AVTAK PTS, (can't remember her name!) doesn't even try to be half convincing as a female agent. She just sits and poses.

    The back projection is reasonably solid in this scene- it really looks like he's dangling hundreds of feet about Rio. I'll take this over a CGI green screen sequence any day.

    Ambulance fight. The guy they fight, is he someone familiar in the Bond series? Like how Paul Weston was the guy in the PTS of TLD? I always feel like I'd seen him before.

    MR's boat chase and, correct me if I'm mistaken, to date the last time the 007 theme has been played in a Bond film. It's a pretty mellow laid back version.

    Yes! I like when 007 is stranded somewhere in his black dinner suit and pretty much has to walk for miles in his slip ons.

    One of my favorite gadgets- the Seiko with the detonator! Although popping the back off the way he does seems like a hassle when you're in a hurry and about to get scorched by rockets. Q must have thought it would be funny to make this watch more of a pain. Well, that's what 007 gets for constantly teasing him about his shorts in Japan.
    I got a Casio for my birthday this year that looks like Roger's Seiko here. Funny Casio still makes watches styled like this.

    Space sequences- Derek Meddings' work here remains amazing to this day! Considering the success of Star Wars, and by 1979 alone, The Black Hole and Star Trek: The Motion Picture, the effects here hold up remarkably well. I couldn't imagine anyone on the Bond team involved with the effects here going back 20 years later and adding CGI enhancements the way Lucas felt A New Hope needed.
    This almost makes me want to go back and watch Star Trek: The Motion Picture or some Gil Gerard Buck Rogers episodes, actually.

    Considering the overall tone of MR, the Dolly/Jaws scenes don't bother me too much. They'd cut that out by the next film.

    Once again another enjoyable screening of MR. A fun go-to Bond, completely outrageous, and unashamed of itself. I say bravo to Cubby, Lewis and the team for picking a stylistic tone and just going for it full blast! Over the top is what they went for and what we got. No holding back. I am glad we got a more back to the basics entry for it's follow up.
    I imagine audiences today wouldn't get half of the in-jokes: Close Encounters, 2001, Magnificent Seven music cues and so forth. Actually, I don't find the Magnificent Seven music in that scene to be remotely funny. However, the theme itself is so cool, I don't mind it being there. Watching MR today, that scene to me plays more like an homage than a joke.
    I may pop in AVTAK in a day or so depending on my mood. Maybe DAD? Or CR to celebrate it's 10th!

    me too....its lighter than CR or SF ...QOS short running time helps it,but this is just a blast...Bond not taking any crap...
