Great viewing of TB for the first day of summer.

I remember watching my crummy, taped of of ABC, VHS copy of TB countless times as a kid in the summer of '88.

in the mood for another one and just enough time.....................

Again great gunbarrel music here, IMO

To date the FINAL time the gunbarrel has been presented un-tampered with in full tradition.

I remember some Bond movie book commenting that 002 and 004 were meant to look like Roger Moore and George Lazenby.

    I see no resemblance whatsoever.

Much like Ronson in SKYFALL, who sports the same 2012 haircut as Craig, 004 is sporting the same 1987 standard regulation haircut as Bond.

I read that as well, and the resemblance is very far-fetched.

Bond encounters former Bond villain Michel Julienne.

I recognized Michel Julienne the first time I saw TLD.

Recent interview with Pal Waaktaar revealed a-ha's biggest difference with Barry was over a chord change.
I wonder if it's the "comes the morning" bit where it awkwardly switches to an F minor?

I should talk like Tim, speaking nearly every sentence with extreme intensity.
People around me might freak out.

I can remember the audience laughing at some of the one-liners with Saunders, and especially the pipeline sequence.

I kind of miss the summer release dates for the Bonds. I can remember the hot afternoon I saw TLD for the first time. I always thought it was cool to look forward to a new Bond during the summer.

GoldenEye was originally slated for a summer 1995 release until a late re-write pushed the film back.
I suppose the success of that late fall opening started a new tradition.

The ghetto blaster bit brought the house down. Enormous laugh from the audience.

Blaydon's safe house was used in PUMA MAN.

Cello case bit..........another sequence that brought loud cheers from the audience.

So my posting during TLD was interrupted. Still another solid viewing of a Bond that remains in my top ten.

I'm going to attempt re-entry here for a bottom ten entry......

Gunbarrel...............I'm still against the idea of cutting to the Bond theme's conclusion for this sequence. I hate they did it again in SP.

I do love that opening shot of Pierce.

    Pierce looks good in glasses.

His haircut is a 1999 version of a classic Bond look.

Bond holds up a photo of the MI6 agent killed for the money. Be interesting trivia to know who the chap in that photo actually is.
    Looks like a college kid.

I love Maria Grazia Cucinotta. Il Postino.
I'm not being sarcastic when I say she is easily my favorite Bond girl of the Brosnan era.

Pity her role is so small.

    Pierce means business.
