    I love Diana Rigg.

Controversial opinion: I prefer Tracy to Vesper.

This is one of my favorite PTS openings.

The Blu-ray seems to have gotten rid of that awful color timing on the 2006 UE DVD.

    This looks much better.

George's "Bond. James Bond" reading is excellent, IMO.

They need to bring back "My name is Bond. James Bond".
The last time he said it was in FYEO. Since then it's either been 'THE name's Bond......."
or "Bond. James Bond". Often attempting to re-do the classic DR NO version.

I'm a big fan of the PTS too. Barry's work is quite sublime (one of my favourite pieces of his actually) and Bond's intro in my favourite Aston model coolly smoking a fag never gets old.

One of my favorite title sequences.
The first time I saw OHMSS was at 9pm PST, September 1, 1985 on the ABC Sunday Night Movie.

I loved it. Earlier in the week a cashier at my local SHELL gas station, told me about the title sequence incorporating clips from the earlier films. As I recall the guy loved OHMSS, which was kind of rare to come across in those days. Not much love for the film back then as I recall.

OHMSS may well be my favorite Barry score all together. Laz looks the king of cool behind the wheel in those shots.

Bond just bailed out Tracy. This film is visually beautiful to behold. The purple hues in the sets, the clothes, complete elegance.

Even the waiter had a pale purple dinner jacket.

Definitely. Lazenby was the most brutal Bond.

I find it odd that to this day there are still many who don't appreciate this film's excellence. I have a friend who is a casual Bond fan, but loves the books. He felt Lazenby ruined the film with a wooden performance. I think George was great, especially for a novice actor. I'll take his first time as an actor performance as Bond over any of the countless guys playing superheroes in today's Marvel and DC franchises.

I quite agree. They really went for broke, perhaps realizing that they needed to in order to compensate for the loss of Connery. Apart from a few editing cuts that seem out of place and the dubbing in places it's near perfect audio-visually for me.

Me as well. Some of the dubbing doesn't even bother me; " What a fancy surprise our meeting again so soon".

As Draco says "Without telling me she married" there's a great "Oh.......sh!t" reaction shot of George as he realizes something is up.

This is a top 5 M/Moneypenny scene for me.

Bernard Lee is my favorite M, and this scene justifies why.

Beautiful shot of Tracy driving is enhanced by the great John Barry. She looks lovely.

I love this bit between Bond, Draco and Tracy. Draco is such a likable character along the lines of Kerim Bey. If I were ever to take up a life of crime, I'd want to be hired by Draco.

Montage scene. Not really a style used much these days, but I like it.

The Gumbold office section has great Barry music as well. I love this whole bit.

Any objection to this is more baffling than just about any other opinion you can see here.

Bernard Lee is a Bond icon.

I'm often confused on whether he actually began to shoot scenes for FYEO, then became ill and couldn't finish. Or, if he was too ill from the start and had to be replaced early in production.

I may watch FYEO later, if I have the time. I believe today is the anniversary of it's release.

Bond boards a helicopter with Irma Bunt. Every time I'd watch OHMSS with one particular friend he'd voice the opinion that Bernard Horsfall as Campbell looks like THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO William Katt.

Curly blond hair aside, I disagreed.

Beautiful scenery here. They've just landed and are entering Piz Gloria.

If Bond had a deerstalker hat, he'd be dressed like Sherlock Holmes with that overcoat.

That scene is just so well shot. Truly beautifully done. I hope to see something like that again in a Bond film one day.

I hope so as well. All the elements come together here. Beautifully lit and shot from each angle.
